Abstract
Description
F1−R1−[ウレタン−R2−ウレタン]m−R1−F1 (I)
[式中、F1が独立に、アクリレート、メタクリレート、アクリルアミド、N−ビニルアミド、スチレン、ビニルエーテル、ビニルエステル、または本技術分野で公知の他の官能基などの反応性官能基であってもよく、R1が、独立に、−C2−12O−、−(C2−4−O)n−、−C2−12O−(C2−4−O)n−、−C2−12O−(CO−C2−5O)n−、または−C2−12O−(CO−C2−5NH)n−(nが、1〜30の整数、例えば、1〜10である)を含有してもよく、R2がポリエーテル、ポリエステル、ポリカーボネート、ポリアミド、ポリウレタン、ポリ尿素、またはそれらの組合せであってもよく、mが1〜10の整数、例えば、1〜5である]を有してもよい。式(I)の構造において、ウレタン部分は、イソシアネートとR2および/またはR1との反応から形成された残基であってもよい。用語「独立に」は本明細書において、各々のF1が別のF1と異なり、同じことが各々のR1について言えることを示すために使用される。

[式中、F2が独立に、アクリレート、メタクリレート、アクリルアミド、N−ビニルアミド、スチレン、ビニルエーテル、ビニルエステル、または本技術分野で公知の他の官能基などの1〜3個の官能基を表わしてもよく、R1が−C2−12O−、−(C2−4−O)n−、−C2−12O−(C2−4−O)n−、−C2−12O−(CO−C2−5O)n−、または−C2−12O−(CO−C2−5NH)n−(nが1〜10の整数、例えば、1〜5である)を含有することができ、R2がポリエーテル、ポリエステル、ポリカーボネート、ポリアミド、ポリウレタン、ポリ尿素またはそれらの組合せであってもよく、xが1〜10の整数、例えば、2〜5であり、mが1〜10の整数、例えば、1〜5である]を有してもよい。式(II)の構造において、複数のウレタン基は、多イソシアネートとR2との反応から形成される残基であってもよい。同様に、式(III)の構造中のウレタン基は、R2および/またはR1へのジイソシアネートの結合後に形成される反応生成物であってもよい。
第2in situ弾性率は、ファイバのチューブ分離試料を使用して測定される。ファイバのチューブ分離試料を得るために、最初に、0.0055インチ(0.0139cm)のミラーストリッパー(Miller stripper)が、コートされたファイバの端部から約1インチ(2.54cm)を固定する。ストリッパーから延びているファイバの1インチ(2.54cm)の領域を液体窒素流に投入し、3秒間保持する。次に、ファイバを液体窒素流から取り出し、急速に被覆除去する。次に、ファイバの被覆除去された端部を検査してコーティングが除去されることを確実にする。コーティングがガラス上に残っている場合、試料を再び調製する。結果として第1および第2コーティングの中空チューブが得られる。被覆除去されていないファイバの端面からガラス、第1コーティングおよび第2コーティングの直径を測定する。

コーティング組成物は、引張試験のためにロッド試料の形態で調製される。ロッドは、硬化性組成物を約0.025インチ(0.0635cm)の内径を有するテフロン(登録商標)管材料に注入することによって調製される。ロッド試料は、約2.4J/cm2の線量(International LightのLight Bug model IL390によって225〜424nmの波長範囲にわたって測定された)でフュージョンD電球を使用して硬化される。硬化後に、テフロン(登録商標)管材料を被覆除去して、コーティング組成物のロッド試料を提供する。硬化されたロッドを一晩23℃および50%の相対湿度で状態調節させる。ヤング率、引張強さ、および破断点伸び%などの性質が、51mmのゲージ長さ、250mm/分の試験速度で欠陥のないロッド試料上で引張試験計測器(例えば、Sintech MTS引張試験機、またはInstron Universal Material Test System)を使用して測定される。性質は少なくとも5つの試料の平均として定量され、不良試料は平均から除外される。

- 外半径r1を有するコアと、

前記クラッドを囲み、外半径r5を有し、0.50MPa以下のin situ弾性率および−15℃未満のガラス転移温度を有する第1コーティングと、
前記第1コーティングを囲み、外半径r6を有し、1500MPa以上のin situ弾性率を有する第2コーティングと
を備えた光ファイバにおいて、
前記外半径r6が110μm以下であり、前記ファイバが1310nmにおいて9μm以上のモードフィールド直径を有し、且つ15mmの直径を有するマンドレルの周りに回転されるとき、0.5dB/回転未満の1550nmの波長での曲げ損失を示すことを特徴とする、光ファイバ。 - 前記クラッドが、外半径r3を有する内部クラッド領域と、前記内部クラッド領域を囲み且つ前記外半径r4を有する外部クラッド領域とを備え、前記内部クラッド領域が、最小値Δ3MINを有する屈折率Δ3を有し、前記外部クラッド領域が、最小値Δ4MIN>Δ3MINを有する屈折率Δ4を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のファイバ。
- 前記クラッドが、外半径r2を有する第1の内部クラッド領域と、前記第1の内部クラッド領域を囲み且つ外半径r3を有する第2の内部クラッド領域と、前記第2の内部クラッド領域を囲み且つ前記外半径r4を有する外部クラッド領域とを備え、前記第1の内部クラッド領域が、最小値Δ2MINを有する屈折率Δ2を有し、前記第2の内部クラッド領域が、最小値Δ3MIN<Δ2MINを有する屈折率Δ3を有し、前記外部クラッド領域が、最小値Δ4MIN>Δ3MINを有する屈折率Δ4を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のファイバ。
- 前記外半径r5が85μm以下であることを特徴とする、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
- 前記外半径r6が100μm以下であることを特徴とする、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のファイバ。
