Abstract
【解決手段】 相対的に大きいインク滴を吐出する第1のノズルについてインク滴が吐出されない状態が吐出異常検出回路により検出された場合、第2の記録モードに設定され、記録処理では、第1のノズルからインク滴を吐出させずに第2のノズルからインク滴を吐出させる。

前記液体吐出ヘッドのノズルについて液滴の吐出状態を検出する吐出異常検出回路と、
前記液体吐出ヘッドによる液滴の吐出を制御する制御回路と、
を備え、
前記吐出異常検出回路が前記第1のノズルについて液滴が正常に吐出されない状態が検出された場合、前記制御回路は、前記第1のノズルから液滴を吐出させずに、前記第2のノズルから液滴を吐出させることを特徴とする。
前記アクチュエーターを駆動させる駆動パルスを発生する駆動パルス発生回路と、を備え、
前記駆動パルス発生回路は、前記第1の大きさの液滴を吐出させるための第1の駆動パルスと、前記第2の液滴を吐出させるための第2の駆動パルスと、を発生可能であり、
前記制御回路は、前記第1のノズルに対応するアクチュエーターに対し前記第1の駆動パルスを印加し、前記第2のノズルに対応するアクチュエーターに対し前記第2の駆動パルスを印加する構成を採用することもできる。
前記第1のノズルについて液滴が正常に吐出されない状態が検出された場合、前記第1のノズルから液滴を吐出させずに、前記第2のノズルから液滴を吐出させることを特徴とする。
本実施形態における記録ヘッド6は、ケース28と、このケース28内に収納される振動子ユニット29と、ケース28の底面(先端面)に接合される流路ユニット30等を備えて構成されている。上記のケース28は、例えば、エポキシ系樹脂により作製され、その内部には振動子ユニット29を収納するための収納空部31が形成されている。振動子ユニット29は、本発明におけるアクチュエーターとして機能する圧電素子32と、この圧電素子32が接合される固定板33と、圧電素子32に駆動信号等を供給するためのフレキシブルケーブル34とを備えている。圧電素子32は、圧電体層と電極層とを交互に積層した圧電板を櫛歯状に切り分けることで作製された積層型であって、積層方向に直交する方向に伸縮可能な所謂縦振動モードの圧電振動子である。
Claims (4)
- 第1の大きさの液滴を吐出する第1のノズル、および前記第1の大きさよりも小さい第2の大きさの液滴を吐出する第2のノズルを有する液体吐出ヘッドと、
前記液体吐出ヘッドのノズルについて液滴の吐出状態を検出する吐出異常検出回路と、
前記液体吐出ヘッドによる液滴の吐出を制御する制御回路と、
を備え、
前記吐出異常検出回路が前記第1のノズルについて液滴が正常に吐出されない状態が検出された場合、前記制御回路は、前記第1のノズルから液滴を吐出させずに、前記第2のノズルから液滴を吐出させることを特徴とする液体吐出装置。 - 前記第1のノズルの開口面積は、前記第2のノズルの開口面積よりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液体吐出装置。
- 前記ノズルから液滴を吐出させるアクチュエーターと、
前記アクチュエーターを駆動させる駆動パルスを発生する駆動パルス発生回路と、を備え、
前記駆動パルス発生回路は、前記第1の大きさの液滴を吐出させるための第1の駆動パルスと、前記第2の液滴を吐出させるための第2の駆動パルスと、を発生可能であり、
前記制御回路は、前記第1のノズルに対応するアクチュエーターに対し前記第1の駆動パルスを印加し、前記第2のノズルに対応するアクチュエーターに対し前記第2の駆動パルスを印加することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液体吐出装置。 - 第1の大きさの液滴を吐出する第1のノズル、および前記第1の大きさよりも小さい第2の大きさの液滴を吐出する第2のノズルを有する液体吐出ヘッドと、前記液体吐出ヘッドのノズルについて液滴の吐出状態を検出する吐出異常検出回路と、前記液体吐出ヘッドによる液滴の吐出を制御する制御回路と、を備える液体吐出装置の制御方法であって、
前記第1のノズルについて液滴が正常に吐出されない状態が検出された場合、前記第1のノズルから液滴を吐出させずに、前記第2のノズルから液滴を吐出させることを特徴とする液体吐出装置の制御方法。
