Abstract
Description
前記陰極と前記発光層の間に配置され、かつ前記陰極に接する有機化合物層をさらに有し、
前記有機化合物層は、下記一般式[1]で示される1,1’,3,3a,3’,3’a,4,4’,5,5’,6,6’,7,7a,7’,7’a−ヘキサデカヒドロ−2,2’−ビベンゾ[d]イミダゾリデン化合物を有することを特徴とする有機発光素子を提供する。
本実施形態に係る有機化合物はUV吸収が450nm以下と短波長であり、有機発光素子の発光波長を吸収することがほとんどない。そのため、電子注入層として有機化合物を用いた場合に、電子注入層の吸収によって発光材料の発光を阻害することを低減できる。
本実施形態に係る有機化合物は主として有機発光素子の電子注入層あるいは電子輸送層、ホール輸送層、ホール注入層の少なくともいずれか1層に用いられる。
以下に本発明に係る1,1’,3,3a,3’,3’a,4,4’,5,5’,6,6’,7,7a,7’,7’a−ヘキサデカヒドロ−2,2’−ビベンゾ[d]イミダゾリデン化合物の具体的な構造式を例示する。
本発明に係る有機発光素子に用いられる1,1’,3,3a,3’,3’a,4,4’,5,5’,6,6’,7,7a,7’,7’a−ヘキサデカヒドロ−2,2’−ビベンゾ[d]イミダゾリデン化合物はOrganic Syntheses,Coll.Vol.5,p.115 (1973);Vol.47,p.14(1967)を参考にして合成を行った。原料となるジアミンはPhilipp Wucher,Philipp Roesle,Laura Falivene,Luigi Cavallo,Lucia Caporaso,Inigo Gottker−Schnetmann,Stefan MeckingOrganometallics,2012,31(24),pp8505−8515を参考にして種々の置換基を有する1,1’,3,3a,3’,3’a,4,4’,5,5’,6,6’,7,7a,7’,7’a−ヘキサデカヒドロ−2,2’−ビベンゾ[d]イミダゾリデン化合物の合成を行った。
次に、本実施形態の有機発光素子について説明する。
(1)陽極/発光層/陰極
(2)陽極/正孔輸送層/発光層/電子輸送層/陰極
(3)陽極/正孔輸送層/発光層/電子輸送層/電子注入層/陰極
(4)陽極/正孔注入層/正孔輸送層/発光層/電子輸送層/陰極
(5)陽極/正孔注入層/正孔輸送層/発光層/電子輸送層/電子注入層/陰極
(6)陽極/正孔輸送層/電子阻止層/発光層/正孔阻止層/電子輸送層/陰極
ただしこれらの素子構成例はあくまでごく基本的な素子構成であり、本発明に係る化合物を用いた有機発光素子の構成はこれらに限定されるものではない。
本発明の有機発光素子は、表示装置や照明装置の構成部材として用いることができる。他にも電子写真方式の画像形成装置の露光光源、液晶表示装置のバックライト、カラーフィルターレスの白色光源、カラーフィルターと白色光源等とを有する発光装置などの用途がある。
本実施例では、基板上に、陽極、ホール輸送層、電子ブロッキング層、発光層、ホール・エキシトンブロッキング層、電子輸送層、陰極が順次形成された有機発光素子を作製した。
基板上に、陽極、ホール輸送層、電子ブロッキング層、発光層、ホールブロッキング層、電子輸送層、電子注入層、金属電極層(陰極)が順次形成された有機発光素子を作製した。
基板上に、陽極、ホール輸送層、電子ブロッキング層、発光層、ホールブロッキング層、電子輸送層、電子注入層、金属電極層(陰極)が順次形成された有機発光素子を作製した。
Claims (19)
- 陽極と陰極と、前記陽極と前記陰極との間に配置されている発光層と、を有する有機発光素子であって、
前記陰極と前記発光層の間に配置され、かつ前記陰極に接する有機化合物層をさらに有し、
前記有機化合物層は、下記一般式[1]で示される1,1’,3,3a,3’,3’a,4,4’,5,5’,6,6’,7,7a,7’,7’a−ヘキサデカヒドロ−2,2’−ビベンゾ[d]イミダゾリデン化合物を有することを特徴とする有機発光素子。

式[1]において、R1乃至R4は置換または無置換のフェニル基、置換または無置換のビフェニル基、置換または無置換のナフチル基、置換または無置換のフェナンスレニル基、置換または無置換のフルオレニル基、置換または無置換のトリフェニレニル基、置換または無置換のジベンゾフラニル基、置換または無置換のジベンゾチオフェン基からそれぞれ独立に選ばれる置換基である。 - 請求項1に記載の有機発光素子であって、
前記R1乃至R4は、前記フェニル基、前記ビフェニル基、前記ナフチル基、前記フェナンスレニル基、前記フルオレニル基、前記トリフェニレニル基からそれぞれ独立に選ばれる置換基である。 - 前記有機化合物層は、前記一般式[1]で示される化合物とは異なる第2の化合物を有することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の有機発光素子。
- 前記第2の化合物は、前記一般式[1]で示される化合物よりも酸化電位が高い化合物であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の有機発光素子。
- 前記第2の化合物は、アントラキノン誘導体、フルオレン誘導体、ナフタレン誘導体、インデン誘導体、ターフェニル誘導体、アセナフトフルオランテン誘導体、インデノペリレン誘導体、フェナントロリン誘導体のいずれかであることを特徴とする請求項3または4に記載の有機発光素子。
- 前記一般式[1]で示される化合物の重量と前記第2の化合物の重量との合計を100重量%とした場合、前記第2の化合物の重量は0.1重量%以上80重量%以下であることを特徴とする請求項3乃至5のいずれか一項に記載の有機発光素子。
- 前記一般式[1]で示される有機化合物と前記第2の化合物との混合比が、50:50であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の有機発光素子。
- 前記発光層が、複数種の発光材料を有し、
前記複数種の発光材料のうち少なくとも一種類は、他の発光材料と異なる色の光を発光する発光材料であり、
前記発光層は、前記複数種の発光材料の発光が混色することにより、白色を発光する発光層であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか一項に記載の有機発光素子。 - 前記発光層と異なる色の光を発光する第2の発光層をさらに有し、
前記発光層の発光と前記第2の発光層との発光が混色することによって、素子が白色を発光することを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか一項に記載の有機発光素子。 - カラーフィルターをさらに有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の有機発光素子。
- 複数の発光点を有し、
前記複数の発光点のうち少なくともひとつは、請求項1乃至10のいずれか一項に記載の有機発光素子と、前記有機発光素子に接続されている能動素子と、を有することを特徴とする、表示装置。 - 前記能動素子は、トランジスタであり、
前記トランジスタの活性層が透明酸化物半導体からなることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の表示装置。 - 画像を表示する表示部と、
画像情報を入力する入力部と、を有し、
前記表示部が、請求項11または12に記載の表示装置であることを特徴とする、画像情報処理装置。 - 請求項1乃至10のいずれか一項に記載の有機発光素子と、

- 請求項1乃至7のいずれか一項に記載の有機発光素子と、前記有機発光素子に接続されているスイッチング素子を有する照明装置であって、
前記スイッチング素子はトランジスタであり、
前記トランジスタのチャネル部に酸化物半導体を有することを特徴とする照明装置。 - 感光体と、
前記感光体の表面を帯電させる帯電部と、
前記感光体を露光して静電潜像を形成する露光部と、
前記感光体の表面に形成された静電潜像を現像する現像器と、を有する画像形成装置であって、
前記露光部は、請求項1乃至10のいずれか一項に記載の有機発光素子を有することを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記露光部は、前記有機発光素子に接続されているスイッチング素子をさらに有し、
