Abstract
【解決手段】有機パッシベーション膜103の上にコモン電極104が形成され、コモン電極104の上に層間絶縁膜105が形成され、その上にスリット1061を有する画素電極106が形成されている。有機パッシベーション膜103および層間絶縁膜104にスルーホール108を形成して画素電極106とTFTのソース電極102とを接続する。スルーホール108の上底付近におけるテーパ角α2をスルーホール108の下底付近のテーパ角α1よりも小さくする。これによって、配向膜材料がスルーホール108内に流れ込みやすくなり、配向膜107がスルーホール108内に存在しない、あるいは、スルーホール周辺における配向膜むらが発生することによる輝度ばらつき等の表示不良を対策することが出来る。

Claims (16)
- 有機パッシベーション膜の上にコモン電極が形成され、前記コモン電極を覆って、層間絶縁膜が形成され、前記層間絶縁膜の上にスリットを有する画素電極が形成され、前記有機パッシベーション膜および前記層間絶縁膜に形成されたスルーホールを介してTFTのソース電極と画素電極が導通する構成の画素を有するTFT基板と、
対向基板を有し、前記TFT基板と前記対向基板との間に液晶が挟持された液晶表示装置であって、
前記有機パッシベーション膜に形成されたスルーホールの断面は、前記対向基板に近い側が上底であり、前記ソース電極の側が下底であり、前記上底の径は前記下底の径よりも大きく、
前記有機パッシベーション膜に形成された前記スルーホールの前記上底に近い側のテーパ角は、前記下底に近い側のテーパ角よりも小さいことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記有機パッシベーション膜に形成された前記スルーホールの深さをDとしたとき、前記上底からD/6の位置における前記テーパ角は前記上底からD/3の位置におけるテーパ角よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記有機パッシベーション膜に形成された前記スルーホールの深さをDとしたとき、前記上底からD/3の位置における前記テーパ角は前記上底から2D/3の位置におけるテーパ角よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記有機パッシベーション膜に形成された前記スルーホールの深さをDとしたとき、前記上底からD/3の位置における前記テーパ角は前記上底から2D/3の位置におけるテーパ角よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記上底からD/6の位置における前記テーパ角は10度乃至30度であることを特徴とする請求項2または3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記上底からD/3の位置における前記テーパ角は10度乃至50度であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記上底から2D/3の位置における前記テーパ角は60度以上であることを特徴とする請求項2ないし4のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置
- 前記画素電極には、前記スルーホール内においても前記スリットが形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 有機パッシベーション膜の上に画素電極が形成され、前記画素電極を覆って、層間絶縁膜が形成され、前記層間絶縁膜の上にスリットを有するコモン電極が形成され、前記有機パッシベーション膜および前記層間絶縁膜に形成されたスルーホールを介してTFTのソース電極と画素電極が導通する構成の画素を有するTFT基板と、
対向基板を有し、前記TFT基板と前記対向基板との間に液晶が挟持された液晶表示装置であって、
前記有機パッシベーション膜に形成されたスルーホールの断面は、前記対向基板に近い側が上底であり、前記ソース電極の側が下底であり、前記上底の径は前記下底の径よりも大きく、
前記有機パッシベーション膜に形成された前記スルーホールの前記上底に近い側のテーパ角は、前記下底に近い側のテーパ角よりも小さいことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記有機パッシベーション膜に形成された前記スルーホールの深さをDとしたとき、前記上底からD/6の位置における前記テーパ角は前記上底からD/3の位置におけるテーパ角よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記有機パッシベーション膜に形成された前記スルーホールの深さをDとしたとき、前記上底からD/3の位置における前記テーパ角は前記上底から2D/3の位置におけるテーパ角よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項10に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記有機パッシベーション膜に形成された前記スルーホールの深さをDとしたとき、前記上底からD/3の位置における前記テーパ角は前記上底から2D/3の位置におけるテーパ角よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記上底からD/6の位置における前記テーパ角は10度乃至60度であることを特徴とする請求項10または11に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記上底からD/3の位置における前記テーパ角は10度乃至50度であることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記上底から2D/3の位置における前記テーパ各は60度以上であることを特徴とする請求項10乃至12のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記コモン電極には、前記スルーホール内においても前記スリットが形成されていることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
