Abstract
Description
本願は、米国特許法第119条(e)の下、2011年7月22日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/510,700号明細書に対する優先権を主張し、この出願の全開示内容は、参照することによって本明細書に含まれている。
図1は、液体試料を調製し、液体試料をたとえばスライドなどの試料担体などの表面に塗布するための試料調製システム21を示す。試料調製システム21は、試料コンテナ運搬装置23、抽出針25、液体タンク26a、液体ポンプ26b、液体システムコントローラ26c、1つまたは2つ以上の洗浄カップ27、希釈システムなどの改質システム29、試料塗布器31、試料容器35を試料調製システム21の他の構成機器へ移動させる試料容器移動機構33および試料容器洗浄システム37を備えることができる。
たとえば複合された緩衝液および洗浄液の組成物などの緩衝洗浄液は、本明細書に記載の試料調製システムとともに使用することができる。複合された緩衝洗浄液は、抽出針25および試料塗布器21を作動するだけでなく、試料調製システムを洗浄し洗い流すためにも用いることができる。洗浄液のように、その組成物は生物試料間の二次汚染を減らすことができる。いくつかの実施形態において、緩衝洗浄液は、沈殿物を減らし、または沈殿物を全くなくすことができ、一定期間(たとえば2週間以上、1カ月以上、6カ月以上、1年以上、1.5年以上、または2年以上)安定であることができる。通常、緩衝洗浄液は水溶液であってもよい。溶媒は蒸留水または脱イオン水を含むことができる。溶液は緩衝剤を含むことができる。緩衝剤の例には、HEPES緩衝剤(たとえばHEPESナトリウム塩および/またはHEPES遊離酸)、ビストリス緩衝剤、リン酸塩、MES、トリスおよびpH5〜pH8を有する有機緩衝剤を含む。緩衝洗浄液は、約0.5mM(たとえば25mM、50mM、100mM、150mM、または200mM)から約250mM(たとえば200mM、150mM、100mM、50mM、または25mM)までの緩衝剤を含むことができる。たとえば、緩衝洗浄液は、水溶液中の炭酸の形成によるpH変化の可能性を低くすることができる約1.0mMのHEPESを含むことができる。
図2は、体液などの試料を分析するための分析システム59を示す。米国特許出願公開第2009/0269799号明細書および同第2011/0070606号明細書、ならびに米国特許出願第12/943,687号明細書で記載のように、液体試料を分析するためのシステムは、たとえば血液、脳脊髄液、リンパ液などの体液、またはたとえば細胞を含むような他の液体を検査するために、サブシステムおよび構成機器を含むことができる。構成機器は、筐体61、試料調製システム21、試料担体搬送システム63、1つまたは2つ以上の処理ステーション65、スライド出力ステーション69、試料担体ラベラー71および制御装置67を含むことができる。
図3は、試料コンテナ(たとえば試験管)から試料を取り出し、試料を試料分析システム(たとえば血液分析システム)の試料塗布システムに供給する方法と順番の実施形態を示すフローチャートである。
図4は、生体液分析システムで使用される試料調製システム21の一例を示す。試料調製システム21は、たとえば体液(たとえば血液、骨髄、尿、精液、胆液、母乳、脳脊髄液、胃液、粘液、腹水、汗、涙および/または唾液)などの液体試料を試料コンテナ39(たとえば試験管)から取り出し、試料を生体液分析システムの試料塗布器31に供給する。試料調製システム21は、試料コンテナ把持装置103、情報読取装置105(たとえばバーコードリーダー)、反転機構47、液体抽出装置109、試料容器35、試料容器移動機構33、試料容器洗浄システム37、試料改質システム29(たとえば希釈システム)、試料塗布器31、抽出針洗浄カップ27、試料塗布器洗浄カップ28、液体タンク26a、液体ポンプ26bおよび液体システムコントローラ26cを含むことができる。
本発明は詳細な説明とともに説明してきたが、前述の説明は例証を意図し、発明の範囲を限定するものではなく、添付の請求項の範囲によって定義される。他の態様、利点、および変更が次の請求項の範囲内にある。
Claims (21)
- 試料コンテナから試料を取り出すように構成された抽出機構と、
配置機構に置かれた試料容器であって、前記配置機構は、前記抽出機構が前記試料容器に試料を供給できる抽出位置に前記試料容器を移動させるように配置される試料容器と、
前記抽出機構が前記試料を前記試料容器に分注した後、前記抽出機構を洗浄するように配置された抽出機構洗浄ステーションと、
前記試料容器の中の前記試料の一部を取り出し、試料担体へ塗布するように配置された試料塗布器であって、前記配置機構は、前記試料塗布器が前記試料容器の中の前記試料の一部を取り出せる試料塗布位置に前記試料容器を移動させるように配置される試料塗布器と、
前記試料塗布器が前記試料の一部を取り出した後、前記試料容器を洗浄するように配置された試料容器洗浄ステーションであって、前記配置機構は、前記試料容器洗浄ステーションが前記試料容器を洗浄できる位置に前記試料容器を移動させるように配置される試料容器洗浄ステーションと、
前記試料塗布器が前記試料の一部を前記試料担体へ分注した後、前記試料塗布器を洗浄するように配置された試料塗布器洗浄ステーションと、
前記抽出機構および前記試料塗布器に供給された液体の流れを制御する液体制御システムと
を備える試料塗布システム。 - 前記試料コンテナが、キャップを有する試験管である請求項1記載の試料塗布システム。
- 前記抽出機構が、前記キャップを貫通する導管を備える請求項2記載の試料塗布システム。
- 前記配置機構が、スクリューおよびスライド機構を備える請求項1記載の試料塗布システム。
- 前記試料塗布器が、試料を分注する導管を含む請求項1記載の試料塗布システム。
- 前記洗浄ステーションのそれぞれが、丸みのある底部を有する容器を含み、液体の流れを前記容器に挿入された導管から前記導管の外面へ向かわせる請求項1記載の試料塗布システム。
- 前記液体制御システムが、液体タンクと、液体ポンプと、前記液体制御システムを操作するコントローラとを含む請求項1記載の試料塗布システム。
- 前記試料塗布システムが情報読取装置をさらに備え、前記試料コンテナが機械可読情報を含む請求項1記載の試料塗布システム。
- 前記機械可読情報が、バーコードまたは無線自動識別タグを備える請求項8記載の試料塗布システム。
- 試料改質システムをさらに備える請求項1記載の試料塗布システム。
- 前記試料改質システムが、試料希釈システムを含む請求項10記載の試料塗布システム。
- 一定量の試料を含む試料コンテナを受容する工程と、
抽出装置を用いて前記試料コンテナから試料を取り出す工程と、
前記抽出装置を用いて前記試料を試料容器に分注する工程と、
前記抽出装置を通じて液体を分注することによって前記抽出装置を洗浄する工程と、
前記試料を含む前記試料容器を試料塗布位置に移動させる工程と、
試料塗布器を用いて前記試料容器から前記試料の一部を取り出す工程と、
前記試料塗布器から前記試料の一部を試料担体上へ分注する工程と、
前記試料塗布器を通じて液体を分注することによって前記試料塗布器をすすぐ工程と、
残存する試料を除去するために前記試料容器を洗浄する工程と
を備える、試料を処理する方法。 - 前記抽出装置は、液体システムによって操作され、前記液体システムの液体は、前記抽出装置内のエアポケットによって前記試料から分離される請求項12記載の方法。
- 前記試料容器に分注された前記試料を改質する工程をさらに含む請求項12記載の方法。
- 前記試料を改質する工程が、前記試料容器の中の前記試料に希釈液を加える工程を備える請求項14記載の方法。
- 前記試料コンテナから試料を取り出す工程が、試験管に取り付けられたキャップを通じて針を挿入する工程を備える請求項12記載の方法。
- 前記液体制御システムが、前記抽出装置および前記試料塗布器の中に真空を生成する時に、前記抽出装置および前記試料塗布器が前記試料を保持する請求項12記載の方法。
- 前記抽出装置をすすぐ工程、および前記試料塗布器をすすぐ工程が、前記抽出装置の一部および前記試料塗布器の一部を、湾曲した底部を有するそれぞれの容器の中に挿入する工程を備え、それによって前記抽出装置および前記試料塗布器から分注された液体が、前記抽出装置および前記試料塗布器の外面に沿って流れる請求項12記載の方法。
- 前記試料塗布器から前記試料の一部を分注する工程が、前記試料の一部をスライドガラス上に分注する工程を備える請求項12記載の方法。
