Abstract
Description
本願は、2011年6月9日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/495024号明細書及び2011年8月4日に出願された欧州特許出願第11176634.1号明細書に対する優先権を請求する。これら文献の各々の全内容は、あらゆる目的のために参照として本明細書に組み込むものとする。
「ポリアミド」という用語は、一般に、少なくとも1つのジアミン及び少なくとも1つのジカルボン酸及び/又は少なくとも1つのアミノカルボン酸若しくはラクタムに由来する単位を含むポリマーを意味すると理解される。
本発明は、さらに鉄元素を含む。鉄元素は、好ましくは粒子の形態をしており、その大部分は、粉末などの小さい粒径を有する。一般に、鉄元素は、多くとも450μm、好ましくは多くとも200μmの重量平均粒径を有する。また、粒径が小さい鉄元素は、多くとも200μm、より好ましくは多くとも100μm、さらにより好ましくは多くとも50μmの重量平均粒径を有するのがさらに好ましい。他方で、鉄元素は、少なくとも10μm、好ましくは少なくとも13μmの重量平均粒径を有する。粒径が小さい鉄元素は、少なくとも15μm、より好ましくは少なくとも18μm、さらに好ましくは少なくとも20μmの重量平均粒径を有するのがさらに好ましい。
本出願人は、驚くことに、鉄元素と組み合わせて、PA6及びPA6,6から選択される脂肪族ポリアミドが存在すると、半芳香族ポリアミドの熱老化性能が改善されることを見出した。
本発明の組成物は、充填材、顔料、染料、潤滑剤、熱安定剤、光安定剤、難燃剤及び酸化防止剤などの別の添加剤/成分を任意選択的に含んでもよい。
様々な補強充填材を本発明の組成物に添加してよい。これらは、好ましくは、繊維及び粒子状充填材から選択される。本明細書において、繊維状補強充填材は、長さ、幅及び厚さを有する材料であるとみなされ、ここで、平均長さは、幅及び厚さのいずれより優位に大きい。一般に、このような材料は、長さと、幅及び厚さの最大値との平均比として定義されるアスペクト比が、少なくとも5である。好ましくは、補強充填材のアスペクト比は、少なくとも10、より好ましくは少なくとも20、さらに好ましくは少なくとも50である。
本発明の組成物は、顔料及び染料をさらに含んでもよい。特に、カーボンブラック及びニグロシンなどの黒色顔料を含んでもよい。
本発明の組成物は、線状低密度ポリエチレン、ステアリン酸カルシウム若しくはステアリン酸マグネシウム、モンタン酸ナトリウムなどの潤滑剤をさらに含んでもよい。
本発明の組成物は、別の好ましい実施形態において、鉄元素熱安定剤以外に、熱老化特性をさらに促進する、鉄元素以外の少なくとも1種の公知の熱安定剤を含んでもよい。これらは、典型的に、フェノール熱安定剤(例えば、Ciba Specialty Chemicalsから市販されている、Irganox 1098又はIrganox 1010)、有機亜リン酸塩(例えば、Ciba Specialty Chemicalsから市販されている、Irgafos 168)、芳香族アミン、周期表のIB、IIB、III及びIV族からの元素の金属塩、並びにアルカリ金属及びアルカリ土類金属の金属ハロゲン化物から選択される1つまたは複数であってよい。
本発明の組成物は、ハロゲン難燃剤及びノンハロゲン難燃剤などの難燃剤をさらに含んでもよい。
(1)PA1:Kingfaから市販されているVicnyl600、PA10、T/10,6(92/8);
(2)PA2:BASF製のPA 6 Ultramid(登録商標)8202HS;
(3)PA3:Solvay Specialty Polymersから市販されているAmodel A−4002、PA 6、T/6,6(65/35);
(3)安定剤:1/9比のヨウ化銅及びヨウ化カリウムと、ステアリン酸結合剤の混合物;
(4)相溶化剤:Dupont(商標)製のFusabond(登録商標)MB226(無水物改質LLDPE);
(5)鉄元素:ALBIS Plastic Corporation製のSHELFPLUS(商標)O2 2400、ポリエチレン中に20重量%のD99粒径63μmの鉄元素を含むマスターバッチ;
(6)繊維ガラス1:Owens Corning(登録商標)によって商品化されているOCV983チョップドストランド(直径10ミクロン);
(7)繊維ガラス2:PPG Industriesによって商品化されているHP3540チョップドストランド(直径10ミクロン);
(8)潤滑剤:Dow(登録商標)Chemicalによって商品化されている線状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)GRSN−9820。
スクリュー速度約200rpm、処理量13.6kg/時及び溶融液温度約310〜325℃を用いた約290℃バレル設定で動作する26mm二軸スクリュー押出機(CoperionによるZSK 26)内で、表1に記載の成分を融解ブレンドすることによって、実施例E1、E2、E3、並びに比較例CE1、CE2及びCE3を調製した。繊維ガラス1又は2をスクリューサイドフィーダから溶融液に添加した。表1に示す成分量は、ポリマー組成物の総量に基づき、重量%で表示する。
初期機械的引張特性、すなわち、破断応力(引張強さ)及び破壊ひずみ(破断伸び)をISO527−2/1Aに従い測定し、老化時間0時間で表2及び3に記録する。測定は、射出成型ISO引張試験片に対して実施した。試験片の型温度は、115〜120℃であり、溶融液温度は、315〜330℃であった。
ISO2578に詳述されている手順に従い、230℃に設定した温度の空気循環炉(Blue M)内で、試験バーを熱老化させた。様々な熱老化時間で、試験バーをオーブンから取り出し、室温まで冷却させてから、試験が実施できるまで、アルミライニング付バッグに密封した。次に、前述したように、ISO527に従い、引張機械的性質を測定した。表2及び3に記録する値は全て、5つの試験片から得られた平均値である。
Claims (15)
- − 少なくとも1種の半芳香族ポリアミドと;
− PA6及びPA6,6から選択される少なくとも1種の脂肪族ポリアミドと;
− 重量平均粒径が少なくとも10μmの鉄元素と
を含むポリマー組成物。 - 前記少なくとも1種の半芳香族ポリアミドが、70モル%超の芳香族反復単位を含む、請求項1に記載のポリマー組成物。
- 前記少なくとも1種の半芳香族ポリアミドが、ポリフタルアミドである、請求項1に記載のポリマー組成物。
- 前記半芳香族ポリアミドが、前記組成物の総重量に基づき、少なくとも30重量%の量で存在する、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー組成物。
- 前記少なくとも1種の脂肪族ポリアミドが、前記組成物の総重量に基づき、少なくとも1重量%の量で存在する、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー組成物。
- 前記鉄元素が、前記組成物の総重量に基づき、少なくとも0.1重量%の量で存在する、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー組成物。
- 前記鉄元素が、多くとも100μmの重量平均粒径を有する、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー組成物。
- 前記鉄元素が、少なくとも15μmの重量平均粒径を有する、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー組成物。
- 前記半芳香族ポリアミドが、220℃超の融点を有する、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー組成物。
- 請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー組成物を製造する方法であって、少なくとも1種の半芳香族ポリアミドと、PA6及び/又はPA6,6から選択される少なくとも1種の脂肪族ポリアミドと、重量平均粒径が少なくとも10μmの鉄元素を融解混合することを含む方法。
- 前記少なくとも1種の半芳香族ポリアミドが、70モル%超の芳香族反復単位を含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 成形部品の製造のための、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載のポリマー組成物の使用。
- 請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の組成物を含む、成形部品ポリマー。
- 機械、エンジン、電気装置又は電子装置における請求項13に記載の成形部品の使用。
- 請求項13に記載の成形部品を含む自動車両、一般輸送手段、家庭用電化製品、又は一般工業設備。
