Abstract
【解決手段】燃料改質装置である改質用気筒16を備えるエンジン1であって、改質用気筒16には、供給管25を介して吸気管12とEGR管27とが接続され、排出管28を介して吸気管12に接続され、供給管25を通じて改質用気筒16に供給される吸気と排気との混合気に燃料を噴射する主燃料噴射装置20が設けられる。

Description
このように構成することにより、EGRガスの特性を利用して燃料をノッキングが発生し難い低級炭化水素燃料に改質するとともに、吸気に混合することで燃料と吸気とが均一かつ希薄に混合される。これにより、ノッキングや失火の発生を抑制して予混合圧縮自着火による運転を可能とする。
このように構成することにより、改質燃料から余分な熱量が除去される。これにより、ノッキングや失火の発生を抑制して予混合圧縮自着火による運転を可能とする。
このように構成することにより、燃料の噴射から断熱圧縮が開始されるまでの間にEGRガスと燃料とが均一に混合するので効率よく燃料が改質される。これにより、ノッキングや失火の発生を抑制して予混合圧縮自着火による運転を可能とする。
このように構成することにより、出力用気筒2において着火性が低い状態の場合、着火が補助される。これにより、ノッキングや失火の発生を抑制して予混合圧縮自着火による運転を可能とする。
このように構成することにより、断熱圧縮が開始されるまでの間にEGRガスと燃料とが均一に混合するので効率よく燃料が改質される。これにより、ノッキングや失火の発生を抑制して予混合圧縮自着火による運転を可能とする。

Claims (5)
- 燃料改質装置を備えるエンジンであって、
燃料改質装置は、供給管を介して吸気管とEGR管とが接続され、排出管を介して吸気管に接続され、
供給管を介して燃料改質装置に供給される吸気と排気との混合気に対して燃料を噴射する主燃料噴射装置が設けられるエンジン。 - 前記排出管に前記燃料改質装置から排出される混合気を冷却するための改質燃料用インタークーラーが設けられる請求項1に記載のエンジン。
- 前記燃料改質装置は、燃料が噴射された混合気を改質用ピストンの往復運動により断熱圧縮する改質用気筒から構成され、
前記主燃料噴射装置が改質用気筒内に配置され、吸気の吸入行程又は圧縮行程の前半に燃料を噴射するように制御する制御装置を更に備える請求項1又は請求項2に記載のエンジン。 - 前記燃料改質装置は、燃料が噴射された混合気を改質用ピストンの往復運動により断熱圧縮する改質用気筒から構成され、
前記主燃料噴射装置が前記供給管に配置され、
前記燃料改質用気筒に前記混合気が供給される際に燃料を噴射するように制御する制御装置を更に備える請求項1又は請求項2に記載のエンジン。 - 前記エンジンの出力用気筒に副燃料噴射装置が設けられ、
前記制御装置によって前記出力用気筒の断熱圧縮行程又は膨張行程前半に燃料を噴射するように制御される請求項1から請求項4のいずれか一項に記載のエンジン。
