Claims (15)

  1. 原紙;及び、該原紙の少なくとも片側上にコーティング組成物を含むコーテッド紙であって、該コーティング組成物が、非晶質リン酸アルミニウム又はポリリン酸アルミニウム顔料を含有し、かつ該リン酸アルミニウム又はポリリン酸アルミニウム顔料が遊離粒子の形態である、前記コーテッド紙。
  2. 前記粒子が、前記組成物中の総固体重量を基に約1%、3%、5%、10%、12%、15%、20%、30%又は50%より多い量で存在する、請求項1記載のコーテッド紙。
  3. 前記粒子が、みかけ密度1.95〜2.50g/cm3、及びリン対アルミニウムのモル比1を有する、請求項1記載のコーテッド紙。
  4. 前記粒子が、1粒子につき閉じた空隙1〜4つを含む、請求項1記載のコーテッド紙。
  5. 前記粒子が、粒度分布約0.1〜約5μにより特徴付けられる、請求項1記載のコーテッド紙。
  6. 前記コーティング組成物が、炭酸カルシウム、焼成カオリン、含水カオリン、チャイナクレイ、タルク、雲母、ドロマイト、シリカ、ケイ酸塩、ゼオライト、セッコウ、サチン白、チタニア、二酸化チタン、硫酸カルシウム、硫酸バリウム、三水和アルミナ、プラスチック顔料、及びそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される1以上の追加顔料を更に含有する、請求項1記載のコーテッド紙。
  7. 前記コーティング組成物が、前記非晶質リン酸アルミニウム又はポリリン酸アルミニウム顔料を該組成物中の総固体重量を基に約1%〜約40%の量、及びTiO2顔料を約1%〜約40%の量で含有する、請求項1記載のコーテッド紙。
  8. 1連につき18〜34ポンドの重量の原紙;及び該原紙の少なくとも片側上にコーティング組成物を含む嵩高コーテッド紙であって、該組成物が、遊離粒子の形態である非晶質リン酸アルミニウム又はポリリン酸アルミニウム顔料を含有し、かつ該コーティング組成物が、片側1連につき3ポンドを超えない重量であり、かつ該原紙が、コーテッド紙の総紙厚の少なくとも約88%の紙厚を有し、かつ該コーティング組成物が、該コーテッド紙の紙厚の実質的に残りを提供して、該コーテッド紙が少なくとも55の嵩率を有する、前記嵩高コーテッド紙。
  9. 前記非晶質リン酸アルミニウム又はポリリン酸アルミニウム顔料が、リン酸、硫酸アルミニウム、及び水酸化ナトリウム又はアルミン酸ナトリウムを含む出発材料を混ぜ合わせることにより調製される、請求項8記載のコーテッド紙。
  10. コーテッド紙の製造方法であって、
    リン酸、硫酸アルミニウム、並びに水酸化ナトリウム及びアルミン酸ナトリウムのうちの1つを含む出発材料を混ぜ合わせることによる非晶質リン酸アルミニウム又はポリリン酸アルミニウム顔料を含み、該粒子が遊離粒子の形態である組成物を形成すること;及び、
    該組成物を原紙の少なくとも片側に適用すること;を含む、前記製造方法。
  11. 前記出発材料を反応させて非晶質リン酸アルミニウム又はポリリン酸アルミニウム粒子を形成し、該粒子が、温度約130℃未満で乾燥され、かつ該非晶質リン酸アルミニウム又はポリリン酸アルミニウム粒子が、1粒子につき1つ以上の閉じた空隙を有する、請求項10記載の方法。
  12. 前記リン酸及び水酸化アルミニウムが、第一工程において混ぜ合わされて酸性リン酸アルミニウムの溶液又は懸濁液を形成し、第二工程において、前記アルミン酸ナトリウムが該溶液又は懸濁液に添加される、請求項10記載の方法。
  13. 前記リン酸、水酸化アルミニウム、及びアルミン酸ナトリウムが、一工程で混ぜ合わされる、請求項10記載の方法。
  14. 前記組成物が、炭酸カルシウム、焼成カオリン、含水カオリン、チャイナクレイ、タルク、雲母、ドロマイト、シリカ、ケイ酸塩、ゼオライト、セッコウ、サチン白、チタニア、二酸化チタン、硫酸カルシウム、硫酸バリウム、三水和アルミナ、プラスチック顔料、及びそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される1以上の追加顔料を更に含有する、請求項10記載の方法。
  15. 前記組成物が、約5g/m2〜約30g/m2の量で前記原紙に適用される、請求項10記載の方法。
