Abstract

Claims (60)
- 表示状態によって特徴付けられる複数の表示素子を含むディスプレイを更新する方法であって、
第1の動作モードにおいて、第1のフレーム更新レートで、実質的に全ての前記表示素子の前記表示状態を定期的に再設定して、第1の一連の画像フレームを表示することと、
第2のフレーム更新レートで、前記表示素子の第1の部分の前記表示状態を定期的に再設定することと、前記第2のフレーム更新レートよりも低い第3のフレーム更新レートで、前記表示素子の残りの部分の前記表示状態を定期的に再設定することとを含む第2の動作モードに変更することとを含み、
第2のモードにおいて、第2の一連の画像フレームが、前記第1の一連の画像フレームを表示するのに使用される前記表示素子の解像度よりも低い表示素子の解像度で表示される方法。 - 前記第1のフレーム更新レートが、前記第2のフレーム更新レートと同じである請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第3のフレーム更新レートが、時間にしたがって変化する請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第3のフレーム更新レートが、前記第2の一連の画像フレームに少なくとも部分的に基づいて変化する請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記表示素子の前記残りの部分の前記表示状態を定期的に再設定することが、前記第2の一連の画像フレームの中の少なくとも1つに少なくとも部分的に基づいて前記表示状態を判断することを含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第2の動作モードへの前記変更が、前記表示素子の前記残りの部分の前記表示状態を再設定することを含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第2の動作モードが、前記第1のモードよりも少ない電力を消費する請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第2の動作モードが、低バッテリ状態のもとで使用される請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第2の動作モードが、動画データを表示するのに使用される請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第2の動作モードが、前記第1の動作モードと比べて、低減された色域を表示する請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第2の動作モードが、前記第1の動作モードと比べて、低減されたグレースケールを表示する請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記複数の表示素子が、行および列に配列されたMEMSアレイを含み、前記残りの部分が、列の選択されたサブセットを含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記複数の表示素子が、行および列のMEMSアレイを含み、前記残りの部分が、行の選択されたサブセットを含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 所定の基準に基づいて、前記第1の動作モードおよび前記第2の動作モードから選択することをさらに含む請求項1記載の方法。

画像データを表示するときに、複数の動作モードの少なくともいくつかが、低減された表示素子の解像度に対応する、複数の動作モードをもつディスプレイと、
前記ディスプレイ装置が動作しているモードに少なくとも部分的に依存するデータレートで、画像データを前記ディスプレイ装置に供給するように構成された画像データ源とを含むシステム。 - 前記ディスプレイと電気的に通信し、供給された画像データを処理するように構成されたプロセッサと、
前記プロセッサと電気的に通信するメモリ装置とをさらに含む請求項20記載のシステム。 - 少なくとも1つの信号を前記ディスプレイに送るように構成されたドライバ回路をさらに含む請求項21記載のシステム。
- 前記画像データの少なくとも一部分を前記ドライバ回路に送るように構成された制御装置をさらに含む請求項22記載のシステム。
- 画像データ源が、前記画像データを前記プロセッサに送るように構成されている請求項21記載のシステム。
- 前記画像データ源が、受信機、トランシーバ、および送信機の中の少なくとも1つを含む請求項24記載のシステム。
- 入力データを受信して、前記入力データを前記プロセッサへ通信するように構成されている入力装置をさらに含む請求項21記載のシステム。
- 前記動作モードの少なくとも一方において、前記ディスプレイ装置が、前記第1の動作モードと比べて、低減された色域を表示する請求項20記載のシステム。

- 前記動作モードの少なくとも一方において、前記ディスプレイ装置が、前記第1の動作モードと比べて、低減されたグレースケールを表示する請求項20記載のシステム。
- 前記ディスプレイ装置が、複数の表示素子を含み、前記動作モードの少なくとも1つが、表示素子の一部の表示状態を再設定することを含む請求項20記載のシステム。
- 画像データ源が、表示素子の残りの部分を再設定する表示状態を供給するようにも構成されている請求項33記載のシステム。
- 表示素子の前記一部が、第1の組の行を含む請求項33記載のシステム。
- 前記画像データが、動画データを含む請求項20記載のシステム。
- ディスプレイを更新する方法であって、
ディスプレイ書込み動作中に、一連の行電圧ストローブを、表示素子の第1の組の行に印加して、前記第1の組の行の表示素子を選択された状態に構成することと、
受信した表示データにしたがってディスプレイの残りの行を設定する後のディスプレイ書込み動作中に、前記第1の組の行への後の行電圧ストローブをスキップすることとを含む方法。 - 前記後の行電圧ストローブをスキップすることが、低バッテリ状態のもとで行われる請求項37記載の方法。
- 前記後の行電圧ストローブをスキップすることが、低減された色域を表示することを含む請求項37記載の方法。
- 前記後の行電圧ストローブをスキップすることが、前記第1の動作モードと比べて、低減されたグレースケールレベルを表示することを含む請求項37記載の方法。
- 画像データに少なくとも部分的に基づいて、前記選択された状態を判断することをさらに含む請求項37記載の方法。
- ディスプレイを更新する方法であって、
ディスプレイ書込み動作中に、1組の列電圧を表示素子の第1の組の列に印加して、前記第1の組の列の表示素子を選択された状態に構成することと、
受信した表示データにしたがってディスプレイの残りの列を設定する後のディスプレイ書込み動作中に、前記第1の組の列への後の列の遷移をスキップすることとを含む方法。 - 前記後の列の遷移をスキップすることが、低バッテリ状態のもとで行われる請求項42記載の方法。
- 前記後の列の遷移をスキップすることが、低減された色域を表示することを含む請求項42記載の方法。
- 前記後の列の遷移をスキップすることが、前記第1の動作モードと比べて、低減されたグレースケールを表示することを含む請求項42記載の方法。
- 画像データに少なくとも部分的に基づいて、前記選択された状態を判断することをさらに含む請求項42記載の方法。
- ディスプレイ装置の表示解像度を低減することと、
ディスプレイ装置の低減された表示解像度に対応する解像度をもつ、表示に適したビデオデータを受信することとを含む方法。 - 表示素子のアレイをもつディスプレイと、
ディスプレイ書込み動作中に、アレイ内の第1の組の行または列に一連の電圧ストローブを印加するように構成されているドライバ回路であって、受信した表示データにしたがってディスプレイの残りの行または列を設定する少なくとも1回の後のディスプレイ書込み動作中に、前記第1の組の行または列への後の行または列電圧ストローブをスキップするように構成されているドライバ回路とを含むシステム。 - 前記ディスプレイと電気的に通信し、供給された画像データを処理するように構成されているプロセッサと、
前記プロセッサと電気的に通信するメモリ装置とをさらに含む請求項48記載のシステム。 - 前記画像データの少なくとも一部分を前記ドライバ回路に送るように構成されている制御装置をさらに含む請求項49記載のシステム。
- 前記画像データを前記プロセッサに送るように構成されている画像源をさらに含む請求項49記載のシステム。
- 前記画像源が、受信機、トランシーバ、および送信機の中の少なくとも1つを含む請求項51記載のシステム。
- 入力データを受信し、前記入力データを前記プロセッサに通信するように構成された入力装置をさらに含む請求項49記載のシステム。

画像データを表示するときに、複数の動作モードの少なくともいくつかが、低減された表示素子の解像度に対応している、ディスプレイにおける複数の動作モードを供給する第1の手段と、
前記ディスプレイ装置が動作しているモードに少なくとも部分的に依存するデータレートで、画像データを前記第1の供給手段に供給する第2の手段とを含むシステム。 - 第1の供給手段が、駆動回路を含む請求項58記載のシステム。
- 第2の供給手段が、サーバを含む請求項58記載のシステム。
