Description
この燐光体の色軌跡は、2つの濃度Lu:Ceの比を使用して付加的に微同調することができ、これは、LEDにおける更なる(黄色又は赤色)燐光体への適用を簡単又は最適にする。燐光体におけるCeの濃度が増加するにつれて、燐光体の放射スペクトルの青色端が、より長い波長へとシフトする。ある実施形態では、燐光体は、約1から約1.5モル%のCeを含む。
一般式(Lu1-x-y-a-bYxGdy)3(Al1-zGaz)5O12:CeaPrb、但し、0<x<1、0<y<1、0<z≦0.1、0<a≦0.2及び0<b≦0.1で表わされる燐光体の燐光体合成については、1つ以上の出発材料が、硝酸溶液に溶け得る酸化物、硝酸塩、硫酸塩、酢酸塩、クエン酸塩又は塩素酸塩のような酸素含有化合物でよい。例えば、ある量のLu2O3、Al(NO3)3・9H2O、Ce(NO3)3・6H2O及びAlF3が硝酸溶液において混合及び溶解される。酸性溶液の強度は、酸素含有化合物を迅速に溶解するように選択され、この選択は、当業者の技術の範囲内である。硝酸溶液は蒸発される。乾燥された沈殿物は、ボールミル処理されるか又は他の仕方で完全に混合され、次いで、出発材料の実質的に完全な脱水を確保するに充分な時間中約1300℃においてCO雰囲気中で焼成(calcination)される。焼成は、一定の温度で行うことができる。或いは又、焼成温度は、周囲温度から上昇させて、最終温度に焼成時間中保持するようにしてもよい。間欠的なミリング段階の後に、焼成された材料は、H2、CO、又はこれらガスの1つと不活性ガスとの混合物のような還元環境のもとで1500-1700℃において同様に焼かれる。焼成された材料は、酸素含有化合物を分解して、全ての焼成された材料を希望の燐光体組成へと変換するに充分な時間、焼かれる。

Claims (3)
- 第1の光を放出することのできる放射ソースと、
前記第1の光を吸収すると共に、前記第1の光とは異なる波長の第2の光を放出することのできる第1の蛍光材料であって、式(Lu0.495Y0.495Ce0.01)3Al5O12を有する燐光体である第1の蛍光材料とを含むシステム。 - さらに前記第1の光及び/又は第2の光によって励起され赤色の光を放出することのできる第2の蛍光材料を含む請求項1に記載のシステム。
- さらに(Sr1-x-yBaxCay)2-zSi5-aAlaN8-aOa:Euz、但し、0≦a<5、0<x≦1、0≦y≦1、及び0<z≦1、Sr2Si5N8:Eu2+及び(Sr1-xCax)S:Eu、但し、0<x≦1からなる群より選ばれる第2の蛍光材料を含む請求項1に記載のシステム。
