Abstract
【解決手段】液晶層113を挟持した一対の透明基板の一方の基板101上にカラーフィルタ層107を有する横電界により液晶を駆動させる液晶表示回路を形成し、対向する他方の基板116において、液晶とは反対側に静電容量結合方式のタッチセンサ回路層117を有することで、タッチセンサ回路に液晶表示回路が近接せずに、タッチセンサの静電容量の変化を高感度で検出することが可能となる。これにより、タッチセンサとしての機能、性能を維持しつつ、機器を生産性良く実現できる静電容量結合方式タッチセンサを組み込んだ液晶表示装置を得ることが可能となる。

Claims (6)
- 静電容量結合方式タッチセンサを組み込んだ液晶表示装置において、
液晶を挟持した一対の透明基板のうち、第1の透明基板上に、マトリックス状に配され薄膜トランジスタから成るスイッチング素子と、該スイッチング素子の配線部と、該薄膜トランジスタに電気的に接続された透光性の画素電極と、該画素電極と絶縁膜を介して配置された共通電極が設けられ、
前記第1の透明基板上にカラー表示のためのカラーフィルタ層が設けられ、
前記第1の透明基板の液晶を挟持する最表面に液晶配向膜が設けられ、
前記第1の透明基板に対向する第2の基板において、液晶を挟持する面に液晶配向膜が設けられ、
前記第2の透明基板の前記液晶とは反対側に前記静電容量結合方式のタッチセンサの透明電極が設けられていることを特徴とする静電容量結合方式タッチセンサを組み込んだ液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1の透明基板に設けられた前記画素電極と前記共通電極との間の電界により前記液晶を横電界駆動方式で駆動させて画像表示することを特徴とする請求項1記載の静電容量結合方式タッチセンサを組み込んだ液晶表示装置。
- 前記第2の透明基板において、前記静電容量結合方式のタッチセンサの透明電極はXY位置座標電極からなり、前記XY位置座標電極によって静電容量結合方式によりタッチされた位置を検出すると共に、前記第2の透明基板および前記XY位置座標電極を通して画像を表示することを特徴とする請求項1記載の静電容量方式タッチセンサを組み込んだ液晶表示装置。
- 前記第2の透明基板において、前記XY位置座標電極のうちの一方の位置座標電極である第1の透明導電膜と、前記XY位置座標電極のうちの他方の位置座標電極である第2の透明導電膜と、前記第1の透明導電膜および前記第2の透明導電膜の間に介在する絶縁膜を備えることを特徴とする請求項3記載の静電容量方式タッチセンサを組み込んだ液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1の透明基板において、前記共通電極が前記カラーフィルタ層上に形成され、
前記画素電極が前記共通電極と絶縁膜を介して設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の静電容量方式タッチセンサを組み込んだ液晶表示装置。 - 前記第2の透明基板の厚さは0.4mm以上1.2mm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の静電容量方式タッチセンサを組み込んだ液晶表示装置。
