Abstract
【解決手段】耐水性等に劣る木材表面に樹脂、モノマー、フィラー、促進剤、触媒等を含有するスプレー又は注ぐことができる組成物による層を形成することによって、強度、耐候性等にすぐれた材料を提供することができる。

Description
本発明は耐環境性の二次加工材料に関するものであり、特に、耐環境性構造体を提供するために、他の製造された材料との組み合わせで使用されるバリアコート層及び芯材料に関するものであり、かかる耐環境性構造体は木材表面に使用することができる。
木材は長い間、厳しい環境条件で使用される構造物のための材料として使用されてきた。木材はデッキ(decks)、船体(boat full)、ドック(docks)、及びそれらに類似した物のような構造体のために使用される。これらの構造体は、水、熱、太陽及び湿気のような広範囲の環境条件に晒される。これらの環境条件は、当該木材にふくれ、強度低下、ゆがみ、そり、変形及び腐食のようなダメージを与えうる。このダメージは非常に好ましくないものであり、そのうえ船体のような構造物においては悲惨な結果を招く可能性がある。
前記ニーズは本発明により、容易に適用されたコーティング又は表面であって環境条件に高度に耐えるものを提供することによって充足される。
図1はスプレー可能、注ぐことが可能な組成物の製造方法を図示し、当該組成物は、木材又はパーティクルボードが他の場合には使用されるであろう物品及び表面を作るために使用されうる。一つ又はより多くの樹脂をブロック101で供給する。代表的には、組成物の40〜60重量%のポリエステル樹脂及び10〜20重量%のビニルエステル樹脂が供給される。適当な樹脂はライヒホールドケミカル(Reichhold Chemical)から入手できる。モノマーを0〜20重量%の量で加えてもよい。
木材に置き換わる表面を使用し、形成する方法、組成物、及び船体を開示した。
Claims (20)
- 木材に置き換わる表面で木材表面を修繕する方法であって:
開放された領域を形成するために構造物から木材表面を除去し;
木材に置き換わる表面を形成するため、当該開放された領域に木材に置き換わる組成物と触媒をスプレーするか又は注ぐことを含み、当該木材に置き換わる組成物が以下の:
ポリエステル樹脂、ビニルエステル樹脂、及びそれらを組み合わせた物から選ばれた樹脂;
モノマー;
増粘剤;
促進剤;及び
フィラー
を含有し、ここで当該樹脂、当該モノマー、当該増粘剤、当該促進剤、及び当該フィラーが木材に置き換わる組成物として使用される前に一緒に充分に混合される前記方法。 - 前記触媒がメチルエチルケトンパーオキシドである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記構造物が木材デッキである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記構造物が船体である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記の木材に置き換わる表面が留め具を保持することが可能である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記の木材に置き換わる組成物が以下の:
10〜20重量%のビニルエステル樹脂、
40〜60重量%のポリエステル樹脂、
0〜20重量%のモノマー、
1〜15重量%の増粘剤、
0〜3重量%のフュームドシリカ、
0.1〜5重量%の促進剤、及び
1〜25重量%のフィラー
を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - スプレー可能及び注ぐことが可能な組成物の製造方法であって、以下の:
当該組成物の10〜20重量%のビニルエステル樹脂を供給し;
当該組成物の40〜60重量%のポリエステル樹脂を供給し;
当該組成物の0〜20重量%のモノマーを供給し;
当該組成物の1〜15重量%の増粘剤を供給し;
約15分間混合し;
DMPT、DMA、DMAA、オクチル酸コバルト、オクチル酸カリウム、ナフテン酸銅、第4級アンモニウム塩、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選ばれた0.1〜5重量%の促進剤、及び0〜3重量%のフュームドシリカを供給し;
約5分間撹拌し;
当該組成物の1〜25重量%のフィラーを供給し;さらに
約20分間混合すること
を含む、当該組成物の製造方法。 - 前記組成物をメッシュフィルターを通して濾過することを含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 木材の代用として有用な、スプレー可能及び注ぐことが可能な組成物であって:
ポリエステル樹脂、ビニルエステル樹脂、及びこれらを組み合わせた物からなる群から選ばれた樹脂;
モノマー;
増粘剤;
促進剤;及び
フィラー
を含み、ここで、当該樹脂、当該モノマー、当該増粘剤、当該促進剤、及び当該フィラーを共に良く混合してから、木材の代用として使用する前に触媒と混合した前記組成物。 - 前記促進剤が少なくともDMPT、DMA、DMAA、オクチル酸コバルト、オクチル酸カリウム、ナフテン酸銅、第4級アンモニウム塩、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選ばれた少なくとも一つの材料を含む、請求項9に記載の組成物。
- 前記フィラーが中空微小球体と、ケイ酸アルミニウムカリウム(potassium aluminum silicate)及びケイ酸カルシウムからなる群から選ばれた少なくとも一つの材料とを含み、前記増粘剤がチキソトロピッククレーである、請求項9に記載の組成物。
- 前記中空微小球体がシリケートガラス、セラミック、及びプラスチックの微小球体からなる群から選ばれた材料を含むものである、請求項11に記載の組成物。
- さらにフュームドシリカを含む、請求項11に記載の組成物。
- 前記組成物が以下の:
10〜20重量%のビニルエステル樹脂;
40〜60重量%のポリエステル樹脂;
0〜20重量%のモノマー;
1〜15重量%の増粘剤;
0〜3重量%のフュームドシリカ;
0.1〜5重量%の促進剤;及び
1〜25重量%のフィラー
を含む、請求項13に記載の組成物。 - 船体であって、以下の:
少なくとも一つの繊維強化合成プラスチック層;
樹脂、モノマー、増粘剤、促進剤、フィラー、及び触媒を混合した組成物で形成された望みの厚みの中間層;及び
外側の層
を含む前記船体。 - 前記中間層が以下の:
10〜20重量%のビニルエステル樹脂;
40〜60重量%のポリエステル樹脂;
0〜20重量%のモノマー;
1〜15重量%の増粘剤;
0〜3重量%のフュームドシリカ;
0.1〜5重量%の促進剤;及び
1〜25重量%のフィラー
を含み、触媒と混合した組成物から形成された前記中間層である、請求項15に記載の船体。 - 前記フィラーが中空微小球体と、ケイ酸アルミニウムカリウム(potassium aluminum silicate)及びケイ酸カルシウムから選ばれた少なくとも一つの材料とを含み、前記増粘剤がチキソトロピッククレーである、請求項16に記載の船体。
- 前記中空微小球体がシリケートガラス、セラミック、及びプラスチック微小球体からなる群から選ばれた材料を含む、請求項17に記載の船体。
- 前記促進剤がDMPT,DMA、DMAA、オクチル酸コバルト、オクチル酸カリウム、ナフテン酸銅、第4級アンモニウム塩、及びそれらの混合物からなる群から選ばれた少なくとも一つの材料を含むものである、請求項18に記載の船体。
- 前記中間層が約705psi(4860kPa)の剪断強度、約2544psi(17540kPa)の圧縮強度、及び約0.2%の吸水率を有する、請求項15に記載の船体。
