Abstract
Description
本出願は、2006年6月15日に出願された米国仮特許出願第60/813,812号の利益を主張するものである。
(a)「圧縮成形」とは、圧力のみを加えるか、あるいは熱および圧力を同時にまたは順次加えることによって、ポリマー粉末、非ポリマー粉末またはそれらの混合物から部品を作製するための、直接成形および焼結、静水圧成形、押出ラム成形、および/または当業者に公知の他の方法を含む任意の方法を意味するものとし、この方法によって、粉末を圧密化して後続の加工工程を通して形状を維持するのに十分に高い密度を有する成形品を形成する。
(b)「直接成形」とは、粉末をダイまたは成形型内に圧縮して、未焼成(green)または未硬化部品を製造することを意味するものとする。
(c)「焼結」とは、ばらばらの粒子を加熱して、溶融させずに粘性塊を形成するための方法を意味するものとする。
(d)「炭化」とは、材料を灰になるまで加熱することによる分解を意味するものとする。
(e)「端部ギャップ(end gap)」とは、部品の2つの対向する端部間の空間的離隔を意味するものとする。
(f)「継手」とは、1つまたは複数の物品の複数の部分が接合される領域を意味するものとする。
(g)「突き合わせ継手」とは、端部の重なりのない、2つの端部の継手を意味するものとする。
(g)「段継手」とは、段形状の、重なっている継手を意味するものとする。
(h)「スカーフ継手」とは、角度付け(angling)、面取り、相欠き(halving)、または切欠きによって形成された相補的に係合する部分を有する、重ねられた端部を含む部品の列になった(in−line)継手を意味するものとする。
(i)「セパレータ」とは、成形型内の粉末成形材料に導入される仕切りを意味するものとする。
(j)「セパレータ材料」とは、セパレータの構成に用いられる物質を意味するものとする。

Claims (21)
- 1つまたは複数の離隔を有するプレス部品の製造方法であって、
(a)1つまたは複数の工程で、ダイキャビティに粉末成形材料を充填する工程と、
(b)前記充填工程の前、その間、またはその後に、前記プレス部品の所望の離隔の位置における1つまたは複数の箇所において、セパレータ材料を前記ダイキャビティ内に挿入する工程と、
(c)前記粉末成形材料を成形型内に圧縮して前記プレス部品を形成する工程と、
(d)前記プレス部品を前記成形型から取り外す工程と、
(e)前記セパレータ材料を前記プレス部品から取り除く工程と
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記セパレータ材料が、フィルムまたはシートの形態にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記セパレータ材料が、チューブまたはカラムの形態にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記粉末成形材料が、粉末金属、粉末ポリマー、および粉末セラミックからなる群から選択される材料を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記粉末成形材料が、充填剤および添加剤を含有する粉末ポリマーを含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記粉末成形材料が、粉末ポリイミドを含んでなる粉末ポリマーを含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記セパレータ材料が、ポリマー材料、無機材料、金属材料、セラミック材料、または繊維材料を含むことを特徴とする請求項2または3に記載の方法。
- 前記セパレータ材料が、紙、ボール紙または布を含んでなる繊維材料を含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の方法。
- 焼結工程を用いて、前記セパレータ材料を前記プレス部品から取り除くことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記セパレータ材料が、平坦、V字形、湾曲形状、またはひだのある形状であることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記セパレータ材料が、1.0mm以下の厚さを有することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記セパレータ材料が、0.1mm以下の厚さを有することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記プレス部品が、圧縮成形を用いて形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記部品の離隔において対向する端部が、一方の端部が他方と相補形である粗い凹凸のある表面を有し、それによって合わせ面を形成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法を用いて製造されることを特徴とするシールリング。
- 前記シールリングが、ポリイミドポリマーを含んでなることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシールリング。
- 1つまたは複数の間隙を有するプレス部品の製造方法であって、
(a)1つまたは複数の工程で、ダイキャビティに粉末成形材料を充填する工程と、
(b)前記充填工程の前、その間、またはその後に、前記プレス部品の所望の間隙の位置における1つまたは複数の箇所において、間隙形成材料を前記ダイキャビティ内に挿入する工程と、
(c)前記粉末成形材料を成形型内に圧縮して前記プレス部品を形成する工程と、
(d)前記プレス部品を前記成形型から取り外す工程と、
(e)前記間隙形成材料を前記プレス部品から取り除く工程と
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記間隙形成材料の前記挿入が、前記充填の前またはその間に行われることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記間隙形成材料が、前記セパレータ材料を炭化して灰にすることによって、前記プレス部品から取り除かれることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記粉末成形材料が、粉末ポリイミドを含んでなることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。
- 請求項17に記載の方法を用いて製造されることを特徴とする、1つまたは複数の間隙を有するプレス部品。
