Abstract

Description
(インピーダンス調整性)
図1を参照すると、本発明が著しく有用となる「内部」環境の例が描かれている。この環境では、本発明のコネクタは、コンピュータ101等の電子装置の外壁108の内側に配置されている。従って、「内部」と呼ぶ。また、本発明のコネクタは、図1Bに示すように、「外部」のアプリケーションにも使用できる。この「外部」のアプリケーションでは、一方のコネクタ110が回路基板103に取付られているが、その一部が装置101の外壁108を貫通するように延び、その結果、使用者は装置101の外側からコネクタ110にアクセスできる。コネクタ組立体100は、一対の第一及び第二の相互係合するコネクタを含み、本明細書では、これらのコネクタをレセプタクル(又はソケット)コネクタ110及びプラグコネクタ104として記載する。これら二つのコネクタの内の一方のコネクタ110は、装置101のプリント回路基板103に取付られており、他方のコネクタ104は、通常、周辺装置に延びたケーブル105に接続されている。

ケーブル105及びケーブルコネクタ104内で確立された有益な電気的関係を維持するだけでなく、コネクタ終端領域においてケーブル105の形態に近似した形態を維持すると共に、ケーブル105の前記コネクタ104での終端を容易にするために、ケーブルコネクタ端子180と190の終端部の寸法と形状が決定されるであろう。
Claims (6)
- 少なくとも差動対の信号線と該信号線に連関された接地を含むケーブルに終端された相手方コネクタと回路基板間を接続するコネクタであって、
電気的に絶縁性材料で形成されたハウジングと、
該ハウジング内に配置された三つの導電性端子と
を有し、
該三つの導電性端子が、
一つの接地端子(150)と、
該接地端子(150)の連関された二つの差動信号端子(140、141)と
を含んでおり、
前記接地端子(150)及び前記二つの差動信号端子(140、141)のそれぞれは、
前記相手方コネクタの対応する相手方端子に接合する接点部(143、153)と、
前記導電性端子を前記回路基板の連関する回路に終端する実装部(142、152)と、
前記接点部と前記実装部との間を相互連結する遷移部(144、154)と
を含み、
前記接地端子(150)及び前記二つの差動信号端子(140、141)の接点部(143、153)は、前記ハウジング内に進入し、少なくともその一部がそれによって支持されており、
前記接地端子(150)は、前記実装部(142、152)及び前記遷移部(144、154)の一部に沿って前記二つの差動信号端子(140、141)間に延び、
前記接地端子(150)の接点部(153)と前記二つの差動信号端子(140、141)の接点部(143)とが、前記ハウジング内において離間しており、該ハウジング内において三角形状の姿勢で延びており、
前記二つの差動信号端子及び接地端子(140、141、150)の遷移部(144’、154’)が存在する平面では、前記接地端子(150’)と前記差動信号端子(140’、141’)との間の間隔が小さく、
前記二つの差動信号端子及び接地端子(140、141、150)の各々の前記遷移部(144、154)は、各々の前記接点部(143、153)の平面とは異なる交差する他の平面に配列していることを特徴とするコネクタ。 - 前記二つの差動信号端子及び接地端子(140、141、150)の各々の前記遷移部(144、154)は、前記他の平面としての前記相手方コネクタの挿抜方向に略垂直な平面に沿って配列している請求項1に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記二つの差動信号端子及び接地端子(140、141、150)の接点部(143、153)は、それら各々の前記遷移部(144、154)の平面とは異なる交差する他の平面に配列している請求項1に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記二つの差動信号端子(140、141)の接点部(143)は、各々の前記遷移部(144)の平面とは異なった平面にあり、前記接地端子(150)の接点部(153)は、前記遷移部(154)の平面とは異なった平面にある請求項1に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記二つの差動信号端子及び接地端子(140、141、150)の各々の前記実装部(142、152)は、それら各々の前記接点部(143、153)の平面と略平行な平面にある請求項1に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記接地端子(150)は、前記コネクタの電気的特性を調整し、前記相手方コネクタから延びるケーブルのインピーダンスにより近付けるために、前記二つの差動信号端子(140、141)と連関して設けられている請求項1に記載のコネクタ。
