Abstract
Description
(a)内側部と外周縁部とを有する第1の膜;
(b)該第1の膜の該内側部に対応する内側部と、該第1の膜の該外周縁部に対応する外周縁部とを有する第2の膜;並びに
(c)第1の膜の該外周縁部及び該第2の膜の該対応する外周縁部の、少なくとも一部の間に配置された構造フィルム層を含んでなり、
(d)該第1の膜の該内側部が該第2の膜の該対応する内側部に接触しており、該第1の膜と該第2の膜との間をイオンが導通する
ことを特徴とする、燃料電池に使用するための組立体を提供する。
(a)内側部と外周縁部とを有する膜;
(b)該膜の該外周縁部の少なくとも一部を被覆する構造フィルム層
を含む、燃料電池に使用するための組立体を提供する。
(a)カソードを表面に配置した第1の膜を用意し;
(b)アノードを表面に配置した第2の膜を用意し;
(c)複数の窓を画定する構造フィルム層を用意し;
(d)該第1の膜を該窓の内部で該第2の膜と接触させて、該第1の膜と該第2の膜との間をイオンが導通しかつ連続した複数の組立体を形成するように、連続工程において該構造フィルム層を間に用いて該第1の膜を該第2の膜に積層し;及び
(e)その連続した膜電極組立体を切断して、分離した複数の組立体を形成する
工程を含む、燃料電池に使用するための分離した複数の組立体の製造方法を提供する。
Claims (13)
- (a)内側部と外周縁部とを有する第1の膜;
(b)該第1の膜の該内側部に対応する内側部と、該第1の膜の該外周縁部に対応する外周縁部とを有する第2の膜;並びに
(c)該第1の膜の該外周縁部及び該第2の膜の該対応する外周縁部の、少なくとも一部の間に配置された構造フィルム層を含んでなり、
(d)該第1の膜の該内側部が該第2の膜の該対応する内側部に接触しており、該第1の膜と該第2の膜との間をイオンが導通する
ことを特徴とする、燃料電池に使用するための組立体。 - 前記第1の膜上のカソードと、前記第2の膜上のアノードとをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の組立体。
- 前記構造フィルム層の厚さが約0.003インチ(0.0762ミリメートル)未満である、請求項1に記載の組立体。
- 前記第1の膜の前記外周縁部及び前記第2の膜の前記対応する外周縁部のそれぞれが端部を有して、該端部のそれぞれが実質的に同一の広がりで延在しており、前記構造フィルム層が該端部と揃っている、請求項1に記載の組立体。
- 前記第1の膜の前記外周縁部及び前記第2の膜の前記対応する外周縁部のそれぞれが端部を有して、該端部のそれぞれが実質的に同一の広がりで延在しており、前記構造フィルム層が該端部を超えて延在し、必要に応じてその構造フィルム層の少なくとも1つの側部に配置されたシールガスケットを有している、請求項1に記載の組立体。
- 前記第1の膜の前記外周縁部及び前記第2の膜の前記対応する外周縁部、並びに前記構造フィルム層のそれぞれが端部を有して、該端部のそれぞれが実質的に同一の広がりで延在しており、シールガスケットが前記組立体の少なくとも1つの端部に配置されて、前記第1の膜、前記第2の膜及び前記構造フィルム層と一体的に取り付けられている、請求項1に記載の組立体。
- 前記構造フィルム層が、前記第1の膜の前記外周縁部及び第2の膜の前記対応する外周縁部の、全体の間に配置される、請求項1に記載の組立体。
- 前記カソード上に配置された第1のガス拡散媒体と、前記アノード上に配置された第2のガス拡散媒体とをさらに含む、請求項2に記載の組立体。
- 前記第1の膜の前記外周縁部、前記第2の膜の前記対応する外周縁部、前記構造フィルム層、前記第1のガス拡散媒体、及び前記第2のガス拡散媒体のそれぞれが端部を有して、該端部のそれぞれが実質的に同一の広がりで延在しており、シールガスケットが該端部にて前記第1の膜、前記第2の膜、前記構造フィルム層、前記第1のガス拡散媒体、及び前記第2のガス拡散媒体と一体的に取り付けられている、請求項8に記載の組立体。
- (a)カソードを表面に配置した第1の膜を用意し;
(b)アノードを表面に配置した第2の膜を用意し;
(c)複数の窓を画定する構造フィルム層を用意し;
(d)該第1の膜を該窓の内部で該第2の膜と接触させて、該第1の膜と該第2の膜との間をイオンが導通しかつ連続した複数の組立体を形成するように、連続工程において該構造フィルム層を間に用いて該第1の膜を該第2の膜に積層し;及び
(e)その連続した膜電極組立体を切断して、分離した複数の組立体を形成する
工程を含む、燃料電池に使用するための分離した複数の組立体の製造方法。 - (a)内側部と外周縁部とを有する膜;
(b)該膜の該外周縁部の少なくとも一部を被覆する構造フィルム層
を含む、燃料電池に使用するための組立体。 - 前記膜の第1面側に配置されたアノードと、前記膜の第2面側に配置されたカソードとをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の組立体。
- 前記アノード及び前記カソードの少なくとも1つの上に配置されたガス拡散媒体をさらに含む、請求項11に記載の組立体。
