Description
更に、ZnDTPにより発現する耐摩耗膜は、摩擦増大の原因となり、余計な出力損失につながる恐れがある。
(A)通常液状又はガス状の燃料組成物を用いて非カム式内燃機関を操作する工程、及び
(B)燐が少ないか、燐を含まない潤滑油組成物を用いて前記機関を潤滑する工程であって、該燐が少ないか、燐を含まない潤滑油組成物は任意に金属及び燐からなる極圧添加剤(但し、極圧添加剤により該潤滑油組成物に与える燐の量は、該潤滑油組成物の重量に対し約0.08重量%以下である)を任意に含有する該工程、
を含む非カム式内燃機関の操作方法が記載されている。
EP−A−1338643は、乗用車エンジンの潤滑剤用の燐の少ない潤滑油組成物を開示している。
この組成物は、多量の、グループII〜IV基油及びエステル基油;過剰塩基の(overbased)カルシウム又はマグネシウムサリチル酸洗浄剤;油溶性有機モリブデン化合物;灰分を含まない洗浄剤;及び補助的酸化防止剤を含有する。
この配合物に存在する基油は、任意に酸化防止剤を約0.5〜約1.0重量%含有してよい。
幾つかの実施態様では、配合物は燐を含まないことを指示している。
有利な耐摩耗性能を示し、特にシリンダー内径磨耗の少ない、燐を含まない、非カム式エンジン用に好適な潤滑油組成物が本発明において今回、意外にも見い出された。
本発明の好ましい実施態様では、1種以上の酸化防止剤は、潤滑油組成物の総重量に対し、1.6重量%以上、更に好ましくは1.7重量%以上の量で存在する。
都合よく使用できるアミン系酸化防止剤の例としては、アルキル化ジフェニルアミン、フェニル−α−ナフチルアミン、フェニル−β−ナフチルアミン及びアルキル化α−ナフチルアミンが挙げられる。
本発明の潤滑油組成物は、1種以上のフェノール系酸化防止剤を含有してよい。
グループIIの基油は、前記ASTM法で飽和物含有量が90%以上、硫黄含有量が0.03%以下、また粘度指数が80以上120未満である。
本発明で使用されるグループI〜IVの基油については特別な制限はなく、鉱油及び合成潤滑油から選ばれた従来公知のグループI〜IVの各種基油が便利に使用できる。
合成潤滑油としては、オレフィンオリゴマー(PAO)(グループIVの基油)及び脱蝋済み蝋状ラフィネートのような炭化水素油がある。
本発明で使用される基油は、 飽和物含有量が、ASTM D2007で測定して、80重量%を超え、好ましくは90重量%を超える、鉱油及び/又は合成基油で構成されることが好ましい。
本発明で使用される基油の100℃での動粘度は、好ましくは2〜80mm2/s、更に好ましくは3〜70mm2/s、最も好ましくは4〜50mm2/sの範囲である。
しかし、洗浄剤として使用される金属有機及び無機塩基塩は、潤滑油組成物の硫化灰分含有量の一因となるので、本発明の好ましい実施態様では、このような添加剤の量は最小限である。
こうして、好ましい実施態様では、本発明の潤滑油組成物は1種以上のサリチレート洗浄剤を含有してよい。
不飽和脂肪酸アミド化合物の合計量は、潤滑油組成物の総重量に対し、好ましくは0.05〜0.35重量%である。
ジメチルポリシクロヘキサン、ポリアクリレートのような化合物は、本発明の潤滑油組成物に消泡剤として便利に使用できる。
本発明の潤滑油組成物は、アミン系酸化防止剤及び/又はフェノール系酸化防止剤よりなる群から選ばれた1種以上の酸化防止剤及び任意に、通常、潤滑油に存在する1種以上の他の添加剤、例えば前述のような添加剤を、鉱物性及び/又は合成の基油と混合して、便利に製造できる。
以下に本発明を実施例によって説明するが、これらの実施例は、いかなる方法でも本発明範囲の限定を意図するものではない。
第1表及び第2表にテストした配合物を示す。
配合物には従来の標準的な洗浄剤、分散剤、流動点降下剤及び粘度調整剤を使用した。
使用したフェノール系酸化防止剤は、Ciba Specialty Chemicals Co.から商品名“Irganox L−135”で得られるもの(3−(3,5−ジ−t−ブチル−4−ヒドロキシフェニル)プロピオン酸オクチル)である。
実施例2、3でテストした配合物はSAE 5W30の粘度等級油である。
第3表にテストした配合物の物理的特性を示す。
1:希釈油中、水素化スチレン−イソプレン粘度指数向上剤(6%)及び流動点降下剤(1.9%)
2:グループIの基油
3:グループIIの基油
4:グループIIIの基油
2:希釈油中、水素化スチレン−イソプレン粘度指数向上剤(6%)
3:希釈油中、水素化ポリイソプレン粘度指数向上剤(15%)
4:慣用の添加剤として、摩擦改質剤と腐食防止剤とシール固定剤との混合物を含有する補助的添加剤包装
5:グループIVの基油
6、7、8:グループIIIの基油
第1〜3表に記載の潤滑油組成物をテストするため、スクリーニングリグテストを用いて非カム式エンジン環境にシミュレートした。
このスクリーニングリグでは、バルブ列用のオイルシステムは、内燃機関の残部から分離し、これにより、カム従動領域と接触しないので、内燃機関の下部を“非カム”型潤滑油で潤滑した。
テスト終了時、エンジンを取り外し、部品の磨耗量を測定した。
第1表及び第2表に記載した配合物の幾つかを、前述のスクリーニングリグテストでテストした。得られた結果を下記表に示す。
標準テスト期間288時間(即ち、スクリーニングリグテストをベースとするASTM連続VEテストと同じ期間)を用いて第4表に示す結果を得た。
このスクリーニングリグについてのテスト操作の詳細は、全てのテストについてテスト期間を2倍(576時間)で運転した他は、Meganeエンジンを使用したテストと同じである。
また測定情報は、スラスト側ではなく、反スラスト側についてである。
更に、実施例3、4についての第6表の結果を比較すると、明らかに粘度等級の高い配合物(即ち、実施例4の配合物)は、更に少ない磨耗を示す。
Claims (10)
- グループIの基油、グループIIの基油、グループIIIの基油、グループIVの基油及びそれらの混合物から選ばれた基油60重量%以上(潤滑油組成物の総重量に対し)と、アミン系酸化防止剤及び/又はフェノール系酸化防止剤よりなる群から選ばれた1種以上の酸化防止剤1.4重量%以上(潤滑油組成物の総重量に対し)とを含み、燐を含有しない、内燃機関用潤滑油組成物。
- 前記1種以上の酸化防止剤が、潤滑油組成物の総重量に対し1.6重量%以上存在する請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記1種以上の酸化防止剤がアミン系酸化防止剤である請求項1又は2に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記アミン系酸化防止剤が、アルキル化ジフェニルアミン、フェニル−α−ナフチルアミン、フェニル−β−ナフチルアミン及びアルキル化α−ナフチルアミンから選ばれる請求項3に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記アミン系酸化防止剤がフェノール系酸化防止剤である請求項1又は2に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 前記フェノール系酸化防止剤が、2,6−ジ−t−ブチルフェノール、3,5−ビス(1,1−ジメチル−エチル)−4−ヒドロキシ−ベンゼンプロピオン酸のC7〜C9分岐アルキルエステル、及び4,4’−メチレンビス(2,6−ジ−t−ブチルフェノール)から選ばれる請求項5に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の潤滑油組成物を内燃機関に適用することを特徴とする内燃機関の潤滑方法。
- 内燃機関が非カム式内燃機関である請求項7に記載の方法。
- 内燃機関の磨耗を低減するため、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の潤滑油組成物を使用する方法。
- 内燃機関が非カム式内燃機関である請求項9に記載の使用法。
