Abstract
【解決手段】非円形外周を有するパンチ5を円形孔28に挿入しながら、締付け部25の外周と円形外周26の外周をダイ6で拘束すると、駄肉27、27がダイ6の半円形内周62に押されて、円形孔28内に押し込まれる。駄肉27、27の体積は、円形孔28の体積からエクステンションシャフト2の非円形孔23の体積を差し引いた体積と、略同一に設定されている。その結果、円形孔28は変形し、押し込まれた駄肉27、27は、主としてパンチ5の傾斜平面52、52に当接し、図5(2A)、(2B)に示すように、所望形状の傾斜平面232、232と半円形孔231とから成る非円形孔23が、エクステンションシャフト2に形成される。

Claims (4)
- 回転軸軸端の非円形軸部が内嵌して締結される非円形孔を有し、ステアリングホイールの回転トルクを回転軸に伝達するために軸部の一端に形成された締結部を備えたステアリング装置用締結部の製造方法であって、
所望の非円形孔の体積よりも大きな体積を有する孔を上記締結部に成形する工程と、
上記孔の体積と所望の非円形孔の体積との差分の体積を有する駄肉を上記締結部の外周に成形する工程と、
上記孔に所望の非円形孔と同一の非円形外周を有するパンチを挿入する工程と、
所望の締結部の外周形状と同一の内周形状を有するダイで上記締結部の外周を拘束し、上記駄肉を上記孔に押し込んで所望の非円形孔を成形する工程とを備えたこと
を特徴とするステアリング装置用締結部の製造方法。 - 請求項1に記載されたステアリング装置用締結部の製造方法において、
上記孔が円形孔であること
を特徴とするステアリング装置用締結部の製造方法。 - 請求項1から請求項2までのいずれかに記載されたステアリング装置用締結部の製造方法によって製造されたステアリング装置用締結部。
- 請求項3に記載されたステアリング装置用締結部がエクステンションシャフトの締結部であること
を特徴とするステアリング装置用締結部。
