Abstract
【課題】 接合ツールの耐久性を向上し、接合ツールの高速回転による被接合物の接合時間の短縮を図り、接合部の接合強度を向上する。
【解決手段】 接合ツール4の表面に窒化アルミニウムからなる皮膜50を形成する。接合ツール4を高速で回転させながら被接合物2に押し付けて、摩擦熱によって軟化した部分へ没入させて撹拌し、被接合物2の接合部3を固相接合する。皮膜50は、少なくとも被接合物2に接触する領域に形成され、被接合物2に対して耐摩耗性を有し、被接合物2と接合ツール4との間の化学反応による接合ツール4の摩耗防止や被接合物中への拡散を防止し、接合ツール4の長寿命化を図る。また接合ツール4の回転速度を大きくし、被接合物2の接合時間の短縮、被接合物2との接触による摩擦熱発生量の増加、被接合物2の撹拌領域の拡大によって、接合部3の強度低下を防止する。また継手強度などの機械的特性に有害となる接合ツールの構成元素の拡散などによる被接合物中への混入を防止する。

Description
前記接合ツールの少なくとも被接合物に接触する領域には、窒化アルミニウムからなる皮膜が形成されることを特徴とする摩擦撹拌接合装置である。
前記少なくとも被接合物に接触する領域には、窒化アルミニウムからなる皮膜が形成されることを特徴とする摩擦撹拌接合ツールである。
Deposition、略称CVD)、物理的蒸着法(Physical Vapor Deposition、略称PVD)または溶射法によって形成される。前記皮膜50の厚さΔTは、たとえば1μm〜20μmに選ばれる。

Claims (5)
- 鉄鋼材料からなる被接合物の接合部に、接合ツールを回転させながら押し付けて、摩擦熱によって軟化した部分へ没入させ、この軟化した部分を撹拌しながら被接合物の接合部を固相接合する摩擦撹拌接合装置であって、
前記接合ツールの少なくとも被接合物に接触する領域には、窒化アルミニウムからなる皮膜が形成されることを特徴とする摩擦撹拌接合装置。 - 前記接合ツールが没入する被接合部に向けて不活性ガスを供給する不活性ガス供給手段を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の摩擦撹拌接合装置。
- 前記皮膜は、化学的蒸着法、物理的蒸着法および溶射のいずれか1つによって形成されることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の摩擦撹拌接合装置。
- 鉄鋼材料からなる被接合物の接合部に、回転させながら押し付けて、摩擦熱によって軟化した部分へ没入させ、この軟化した部分を撹拌しながら被接合物の接合部を固相接合する摩擦撹拌接合ツールであって、
前記少なくとも被接合物に接触する領域には、窒化アルミニウムからなる皮膜が形成されることを特徴とする摩擦撹拌接合ツール。 - 前記皮膜は、化学的蒸着法、物理的蒸着法および溶射のいずれか1つによって形成されることを特徴とする請求項4記載の摩擦撹拌接合ツール。
