Abstract
【解決手段】電極組立体を構成するそれぞれの電極板には、活物質の塗布されていないタブ(電極タブ)が突出しており、これら電極タブが積層されている一側端部には、電極タブを電気的に連結するための電極リードが位置しており、前記電極タブと結合する電極リードの端部は、ラウンド構造とされることを特徴とする電極組立体、及び該電極組立体を含む電気化学セルとする。

Description
図1を参照すると、スタック型電極組立体10は、正極集電体21の両面に正極活物質22が塗布されてなる正極20と、負極集電体31の両面に負極活物質32が塗布されてなる負極30とが、分離膜80を介在した状態で順次に積層して構成される。
前記電気化学セルは、電気化学反応を通じて電気を提供するデバイスで、例えば、電気化学二次電池または電気化学キャパシタであり、特に、リチウム二次電池で好ましく適用されることができる。
アルミニウム板と銅板を所定の大きさにそれぞれパンチングし、図3に示すように、ラウンド構造の端部を有する正極リードと負極リードをそれぞれ製造した。その後、正極リードと負極リードを、図1に示すように、正極/分離膜/負極が順次積層した電極組立体の正極タブと負極タブに連結し、電池ケースに装着した後、電解液を注入し電池ケースを密封することで電池を完成した。
図4に示すように、端部の外周面もラウンド構造にした正極リードと負極リードを使用する以外は、実施例1と同様にして電池を完成した。
図2に示すように、角張っている端部を有する正極リードと負極リードを使用した以外は、上記実施例1と同様にして電池を完成した。
上記実施例1、2及び比較例1においてそれぞれ製造された電池に対して前方落下実験を行い、その結果を、下記の表1に示す。本実験では、それぞれ20個の電池に対して繰り返し行い、1.5m高さで電極端子が底に衝突するように自由落下とし、電極タブの損傷度合及び電池ケースの破れなどを観察した。
Claims (12)
- 正極/分離膜/負極構造のスタック型またはスタック/折り畳み型電極組立体であって、電極組立体を構成するそれぞれの電極板には、活物質の塗布されていないタブ(電極タブ)が突出しており、これら電極タブが積層している一側端部には、電極タブを電気的に連結するための電極リードが配置されており、前記電極タブと結合される電極リードの端部はラウンド構造とされることを特徴とする、電極組立体。
- 前記電極リードは、平面上で、端部の両側がラウンド構造とされていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記電極リードは、垂直断面上で、端部の外周面がラウンド構造とされていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記電極リード端部の両側は、電極リード幅の1/20乃至1/3大きさの半径で丸くなっていることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記電極リード端部の外周面は、電極リード厚さの1/5乃至1/2大きさの半径で丸くなっていることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記ラウンド構造は、圧延、パンチング、及び錬磨などの機械的処理及び/またはエッチングなどの化学的処理によってなることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記電極リードは、金属プレートであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電極組立体。
- 前記金属プレートは、アルミニウムプレート、銅プレート、ニッケルプレート、ニッケルコートの銅プレート、及びSUSプレートから選ばれたいずれかであることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の電極組立体。
- 請求項1乃至8のいずれか1項による電極組立体を備えてなる電気化学セル。
- 前記電気化学セルは、二次電池またはキャパシタであることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記二次電池は、金属層及び樹脂層を含むラミネートシートの電池ケースに、電極組立体が密封状態で内蔵されていることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の電気化学セル。
- 前記二次電池は、高出力大容量の電池パックに使われる単位電池であることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の電気化学セル。
