Abstract
【解決手段】無線通信システムにおける複数の基地局を同期させるシステムおよび方法。このシステムは各基地局についてタイミング精度の推算値を算定する。一つの基地局タイミング精度が閾値以上である場合は、その基地局よりもタイミング精度の高い隣接基地局があるか否かをこのシステムは判定する。その閾値以上の精度の基地局を、上記基地局と上記隣接基地局との間のタイミング精度推算値の差に応答して、調節する。

Description
ここでRは送信側と受信側間の伝送距離、cは光速度、xは測定装置での遅延である。基地局間の距離が大きければこの式1はR/cできまる。無線電磁波は光速で、すなわちほぼ1フィート/ナノ秒、すなわち3×108m/sで伝播する。基地局間の同期化の目的はそれら基地局を1−3マイクロ秒以内で整合させることである。それゆえ、基地局間の距離が1/2マイル(1km)以上であると、その距離が重要になる。しかしながら、間隔が数十メートルのピコセルまたはマイクロセルについては、重要である測定精度xと比較してその距離の重要性は低い。
この値と測定値の差時間ベースの不整合を示すインジケータとなることになる。当業者には明かなことであるが、ピコサイズのセルについてそうであるように距離r1とr2が充分に小さいとすればそれらの値を知る必要はないことになる。観測された到達時間の差は電磁波の時間差の目安として直接に使うことが出来る。

Claims (9)
- 無線通信システム(18)において複数の基地局(301,・・・,30n)を同期させる方法であって、
前記基地局の各々に関連するタイミング精度の推算値を算定する過程(36,53,54,59)と、
前記推算値が閾値以上である前記基地局の各々について、
前記基地局のうち前記閾値以上の推算値の基地局よりも高いタイミング精度を示す算定推算値を有する一つの隣接基地局を判定する過程(36)と、
前記閾値以上の推算値の基地局と前記一つの隣接基地局との間の時間差推算値を算定する過程(20,301,・・・,30n,36)と、
前記時間差推算値に応答して前記閾値以上の推算値の基地局のタイミングを調節する過程(301,・・・,30n,36)と、
前記閾値以上の推算値の基地局の前記推算値を、前記一つの隣接基地局の推算値よりも低いタイミング精度の推算値に更新する過程(57,59)と
を含む方法。 - 前記時間差推算値を、前記閾値以上の推算値の基地局による前記一つの隣接基地局のタイミングの測定により算定する請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記時間差推算値を、前記一つの隣接基地局による前記閾値以上の推算値の基地局のタイミングの測定により算定する請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記時間差推算値を、ユーザ装置(UE)による前記閾値以上の推算値の基地局からの信号と前記一つの隣接基地局からの信号との到達時間の測定により算定する請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記複数の基地局の中の第1の基地局に最も高いタイミング精度の推算値算定値を割り当て、前記第1の基地局以外の前記複数の基地局のすべてのタイミングを前記第1の基地局に従属させて設定する請求項1記載の方法。
- 無線通信システムにおいて複数の基地局を同期させる方法であって、
前記複数の基地局から同期ずれの基地局を検出する過程(36,53,54,59)と、
前記同期ずれの基地局を前記複数の基地局に同期させるために複数の測定手法の一つを選択する過程と
を含み、前記複数の測定手法が、
前記複数の基地局の一つのタイミング誤差の前記同期ずれの基地局による測定と、
前記同期ずれの基地局のタイミング誤差の前記複数の基地局の前記一つによる測定と
を含み、
前記選択された測定手法に従って選択された測定を行う過程と、
前記選択された測定手法による測定値を蓄積した同期情報と比較する過程と、
前記比較の結果に応答して前記同期ずれの基地局を調節する過程と
をさらに含む方法。 - 前記同期情報が、前記複数の基地局の各々と関連したタイミング精度の推算値と、前記複数の基地局の各々と関連したひと組の状態の蓄積のための共分散マトリクスとを含む請求項6記載の方法。
- 前記複数の基地局が、最も高いタイミング精度を表す前記推算値を有する第1の基地局と、
前記第1の基地局に従属してそれぞれのタイミングを設定したそれ以外の前記複数の基地局と
を含む請求項7記載の方法。 - 前記複数の測定手法が、前記同期ずれの基地局からの信号と前記複数の基地局の前記一つからの信号との到着時間の前記ユーザ装置(UE)による測定をさらに含む請求項6記載の方法。
