Abstract

Description
本出願は、1997年10月2日に出願した米国出願番号第08/942,856号の一部継続出願であり、これは、1997年8月29日に出願した同第08/924,010号の一部継続出願である。
(発明の分野)
本発明は、移植可能な血管閉塞デバイスである。より詳細には、これは、緩和された配置にて、解剖学的腔を充填するために使用され得る安定な三次元構造を有する血管閉塞デバイスである。血管閉塞部材は、適切な金属を種々に含むらせん巻きコイルもしくは編組の1つまたはそれ以上のストランドであり得るか、または編組の場合、このような金属は種々のポリマー繊維もしくは天然の繊維と共に編み上げられ得る。この緩和された配置は、球状、楕円状、卵形状、クローバー状またはボックス様を含む一連の全体的な形状を含む。この緩和された配置は、実質的に空洞であり得るか、またはこの構造の内部を通して通過するコイルの1つまたはそれ以上のストランドもしくはループを有し得る。このデバイスは、予備形成された血管閉塞部材から作製された自己形成形状である。
血管閉塞デバイスは、塞栓の形成を介して脈管構造の一部を構成する血管を介して血流をブロックするために、または血管から生じる動脈瘤内にこのような塞栓を形成するために、ヒトの身体の脈管構造内に、代表的にはカテーテルを介して配置される外科的器具または移植片である。1つの広く使用される血管閉塞デバイスは、血管の壁を係合するために必要な大きさにされ得る巻き付きを有するらせん巻きワイヤコイルである。他のより堅くないらせん巻きコイルのデバイスは、編み上げられた編組を含むデバイスと共に記載されている。
本発明は、緩和される場合に巻き付いて複雑ならせん形態を形成する1つまたはそれ以上の血管閉塞部材を含む血管閉塞デバイスである。血管閉塞部材自身は、らせん状に巻き付いたコイルまたは代表的に生体適合性金属を含む編組であり得る。繊維状の材料は、部材内に編み込まれ得るかまたは結ばれ得るかまたはその上に巻き付けられ得る。本発明の安定なコイルは、最初にワイヤを第一らせんに巻き付けることによって形成され;次いで、この第一らせんは、例えばマンドレル上にそれ自身に巻き戻される第二形態に巻き付けられ、二つまたはそれ以上の層の主コイルを形成する。逆の巻き付きは、第一らせん軸と同じ軸上であり得るか、または異なる軸上であり得る。全体的な形態は、配置される種々の形状であるように選択され得、この形状は、一般に球状、楕円、クローバーまたはボックス形状を含む。一般に、緩和形状の形状は、最大の直径を有する主コイルの最外ループによって形成される。より小さい直径を有するループは、緩和形状を通して通過する。好ましくは、血管閉塞デバイスは、血管腔(例えば、動脈瘤、またはおそらく瘻管の近く)内のぴったり適合するのに適した寸法および形状である。コイルの種々の部分の硬度は、所定の用途についてのデバイスの有用性を向上させるために選択され得る。繊維状材料は、部材に編み込まれ得るかまたは結ばれ得るかまたはその上に巻き付けられ得る。

Claims (14)
- 第1のループと第2のループを形成するほぼ直線状のストランド部材(202)を具える血管閉塞デバイスであって、前記第1のループがほぼ第1の面内にあり、前記第2のループが前記第1の面に角度をなして形成されているほぼ第2の面内にある血管閉塞デバイスにおいて、
前記デバイスが緩和形状にあるときに、前記第1のループが第1の幾何学的形状を有し、前記第2のループが、前記第1の幾何学的形状と異なる第2の幾何学的形状を有する;
ことを特徴とする血管閉塞デバイス。 - 請求項1に記載の血管閉塞デバイスにおいて、前記部材(202)が体腔を充填する緩和形状を有することを特徴とする血管閉塞デバイス。
- 請求項2に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記緩和形状が内部を有し、前記部材(202)の少なくとも一部が前記緩和形状の内部を通ることを特徴とするデバイス。
- 請求項2に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記緩和形状が断面寸法を有し、前記部材(202)の約10%以上が、前記緩和形状の前記断面寸法の85%以内の断面寸法を有することを特徴とするデバイス。
- 請求項1ないし4のいずれか1項に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記部材(202)が編組された管部材であることを特徴とするデバイス。
- 請求項1ないし4のいずれか1項に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記部材(202)がらせん巻コイルであることを特徴とするデバイス。
- 請求項2ないし4のいずれか1項に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記緩和形状が球形、卵形、楕円、クローバーまたはボックス様であることを特徴とするデバイス。
- 請求項1ないし7のいずれか1項に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記部材(202)が、白金、パラジウム、ロジウム、金、タングステン、およびそれらの合金からなる群から選択される金属を具えることを特徴とするデバイス。
- 請求項8に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記部材(202)が白金とタングステンとの合金を具えることを特徴とするデバイス。
- 請求項1ないし7のいずれか1項に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記部材(202)が、ステンレス鋼および超弾性合金から選択される合金を具えることを特徴とするデバイス。
- 請求項10に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記部材(202)がニチノールを具えることを特徴とするデバイス。
- 請求項1ないし11のいずれか1項に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記部材(202)が、第一端および第二端を有し、そして該第一端および第二端の少なくとも一つに装着される配備先端を具えることを特徴とするデバイス。
- 請求項12に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記配備先端が、プッシャーから取り外すように適合された機械的に取り外し可能な端を具えることを特徴とするデバイス。
- 請求項12に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記配備先端が、前記プッシャー上の電流の負荷によってプッシャーから取り外すように適合された電気分解的に取り外し可能な端を具えることを特徴とするデバイス。
