Abstract
【解決手段】 袋状セパレータ23で包まれた正極21と、負極22とを交互に積層し、積層方向Aの両端を負極22側の活物質層22Bとして電極積層体20を構成する。電極積層体20に導電性の外周被覆部材41を巻き付け、積層方向Aの両端面20A,20Bと、積層方向Aに平行な側面20C,20Dとを覆う。側面20C,20Dに圧壊力がかかると、正極21が袋状セパレータ23を突き破って外周被覆部材41に接触し、広範囲に短絡すると共に、外周被覆部材41により熱が拡散され、電池温度の上昇が抑えられる。外周被覆部材41は、負極22の集電体22Aと同一の材料により形成され、厚みは20μm以上50μm以下であることが好ましい。

Description
実施の形態において説明した二次電池を作製した。まず、正極活物質としてのリチウム・コバルト複合酸化物(LiCoO2 )42重量部と、リチウム・マンガン複合酸化物(LiMn2 O4 )42重量部と、結着剤であるポリフッ化ビニリデン4質量部と、導電剤である人造黒鉛2重量部とを混合して正極合剤を調製した。続いて、この正極合剤を溶剤であるN−メチル−2−ピロリドンに分散させて正極合剤スラリーとし、厚み15μmの帯状アルミニウム箔よりなる集電体21Aの両面に塗布して乾燥させ、一定圧力で圧縮成型して活物質層21Bを形成した。このとき、活物質層21Bは、集電体21Aのうち被覆部21Cとなる部分のみに形成し、リード取付部21Dとなる部分は活物質層21Bを形成せず露出したままにした。また、活物質層21Bの塗布端の位置は、集電体21Aの両面で略同一線上となるようにした。続いて、集電体21Aを図4に示した形状に切断することにより、正極21を作製した。
Claims (6)
- 負極と袋状セパレータに包まれた正極とを交互に積層すると共に積層方向の両端に負極が配置された電極積層体と、
前記両端の負極に接し、前記電極積層体の積層方向の両端面と、積層方向に平行な側面のうち少なくとも一部とを覆う導電性の外周被覆部材と
を備えたことを特徴とする電池。 - 前記外周被覆部材は、前記負極の集電体と同一の材料により形成されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の電池。 - 前記袋状セパレータは、前記正極よりも大きな2枚のセパレータの外縁部同士を、少なくとも一部で密着したものである
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の電池。 - 前記袋状セパレータの厚みは15μm以上30μm以下である
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の電池。 - 前記外周被覆部材の厚みは20μm以上50μm以下である
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の電池。 - 前記電極積層体はフィルム状の外装部材の内部に収容されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の電池。
