Abstract
【解決手段】多孔質ユニット10は、大別してベース体11と多孔質板12とを備えている。ベース体11及び多孔質板12は同じ熱可塑性樹脂により成形され、前者は緻密質、後者は多孔質となっている。ベース体11には円形凹部13と連通孔部14が形成されている。ベース体11の円形凹部13には連通孔部14を塞ぐようにして多孔質板12が固着されている。ベース体11と多孔質板12とは超音波溶着により接合されている。

前記ベース体において前記気体通路を囲む端面(平坦面15,35)に前記多孔質体が当接され、その当接部が超音波溶着により接合されていることを特徴とする多孔質ユニット。
前記ベース体の気体通路を塞ぐようにして、該気体通路を囲む端面(平坦面15,35)に前記多孔質体を対向配置するとともに、前記ベース体との間に前記多孔質体を挟んだ状態で超音波振動用のホーン(ホーンH)を前記多孔質体に当接させ、その後、前記ホーンを超音波振動させることにより前記ベース体と前記多孔質体との当接部分を溶融させてそれら両者を接合させることを特徴とする多孔質ユニットの製造方法。
以下、本発明を具体化した第1の実施の形態を図面に従って説明する。図1は、本実施の形態における多孔質ユニット10の外観構成を示す斜視図であり、図2は多孔質ユニット10の断面構造を示す図面である。この多孔質ユニット10は、例えば、液晶パネルや半導体デバイス等のワークを搬送するための搬送装置に用いられるものであり、多孔質面を通じて圧縮空気等の加圧気体を噴出又は吸引することでワークが非接触支持又は吸着保持される。この種の搬送装置については従来から多数の技術が開示されているため、その図示及び詳細な説明を省略するが、略述すれば、例えば浮上搬送装置(非接触式搬送装置)の場合、上面が平面状をなす浮上テーブルに多数の多孔質ユニットが配設され、各多孔質ユニットには浮上テーブル内部に設けられた気体供給通路を通じて気体(加圧エア等)が供給される。そして、多孔質ユニットの表面から気体が噴出されることにより、浮上テーブル上に載置されたワークが浮上し、その浮上状態でワークの搬送が行われる。
上記第1の実施の形態ではいわゆるED手法を用いたが、本実施の形態ではシェアジョイント(SJ)と称される接合手法を採用する。

- 熱可塑性樹脂により緻密質に成形され、気体を通過させるための気体通路を有するベース体と、該ベース体と同じ熱可塑性樹脂により成形され、前記ベース体の気体通路を塞ぐように設けられた多孔質体とを備え、前記多孔質体の微細孔を通じて気体を流通させる多孔質ユニットであって、
前記ベース体において前記気体通路を囲む端面に前記多孔質体が当接され、その当接部が超音波溶着により接合されていることを特徴とする多孔質ユニット。 - 前記ベース体において前記気体通路を囲む端面を、前記多孔質体の外周形状に合わせて凹状に形成し、該凹状部分に前記多孔質体を接合したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の多孔質ユニット。
- 前記ベース体において前記気体通路を囲む端面に突起部を設け、その突起部を前記多孔質体に食い込ませるようにして該多孔質体と前記ベース体とを接合したことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の多孔質ユニット。
- 前記ベース体において前記気体通路を囲む端面を、前記多孔質体の外周形状に合わせて凹状に形成するとともに、その凹状部分の隅部にテーパ部を形成し、該テーパ部に相当する部位の前記多孔質体を溶融させて該多孔質体と前記ベース体とを接合したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の多孔質ユニット。
- 前記ベース体において前記気体通路を囲む端面に、溶融した樹脂材料を回収するための回収凹部を設けたことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載の多孔質ユニット。
- 熱可塑性樹脂により緻密質に成形され、気体を通過させるための気体通路を有するベース体と、該ベース体と同じ熱可塑性樹脂により成形された多孔質体とからなる多孔質ユニットの製造方法において、
前記ベース体の気体通路を塞ぐようにして、該気体通路を囲む端面に前記多孔質体を対向配置するとともに、前記ベース体との間に前記多孔質体を挟んだ状態で超音波振動用のホーンを前記多孔質体に当接させ、その後、前記ホーンを超音波振動させることにより前記ベース体と前記多孔質体との当接部分を溶融させてそれら両者を接合させることを特徴とする多孔質ユニットの製造方法。 - 前記多孔質体に当接する当接面が、前記ベース体の気体通路を囲む端面の接合部分形状に合わせて環状に形成された前記ホーンを用い、該ホーンの超音波振動により前記ベース体と前記多孔質体とを接合させることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の多孔質ユニットの製造方法。
