Claims (15)
- エアバッグハウジング(42,61)と、
前記エアバッグハウジング(42,61)に取り付けられたエアバッグ(20,60)であって、該エアバッグが膨張させられた時に乗員の位置に面する、乗員に面する部分(30)を有するエアバッグと、
前記エアバッグ(20,60)にガスを供給するように接続され、ガスが流され始めた時に前記エアバッグを膨張させるガス源と、
乗員を検知するセンサ(26,58)であって、前記エアバッグ(20,60)が展開させられた時に前記センサが前記エアバッグと共に前記乗員に向かって移動するように、前記エアバッグの、乗員に面する部分(30)に配置されたセンサと、
前記センサ(26,58)の電気信号を受け取り、前記センサの、乗員への作用を検知するコントローラ(38,72)と、
を有するエアバッグシステム。 - 前記センサ(26)は前記エアバッグ(20,60)の、前記乗員に面する部分(30)の導電領域を有する、請求項1に記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 前記センサ(26)は静電容量変位センサを有する、請求項1に記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 前記エアバッグ(20,60)上に形成された複数の電気線をさらに有し、前記センサ(26,58)からの複数の電気信号が前記電気線に沿って伝達される、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 前記エアバッグハウジング(61)に取り付けられた電磁波式のトランシーバー(74)を有し、前記センサ(58)は、前記エアバッグ(60)の、前記乗員に面する部分(30)に取り付けられた反射器を有し、その結果、電磁波が送信機によって前記反射器に向かって送られた時に、前記電磁波が受信機に向かって反射される、請求項1に記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 前記反射器(58)は受動的な反射器である、請求項5に記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 前記コントローラ(38,72)は、前記エアバッグハウジング(42,61)に取り付けられた排気機構(40)に、それを制御するように接続されており、前記排気機構は、前記コントローラからの指令に応答して、ガスが前記エアバッグ(20,60)から逃げることができるようにする動作をすることができる、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 前記エアバッグの膨張の少なくとも1つの段階を検知し、前記排気機構(40)にこれに作用するように接続されて、前記エアバッグの膨張の、前記少なくとも1つの段階が検知された時に前記排気機構が開かないようにする手段をさらに有する、請求項7に記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 前記エアバッグの膨張の、少なくとも1つの段階を検知する前記手段は、前記エアバッグ(20,60)の、前記乗員に面する部分(30)に連結されたワイヤ(50)である、請求項8に記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 乗物シートの一部を形成する電気接触部をさらに有し、該電気接触部と前記センサ(26)は、前記乗物シートの一部を形成する前記電気接触部、および前記導電領域を有する前記センサの両方が乗員によって電気的に接続された時に出力を出す電気回路に接続された導電領域を有する、請求項2に記載のエアバッグシステム。
- エアバッグの、乗員に向かう展開を開始させ、前記エアバッグが展開している間、前記エアバッグの、乗員に面する前記部分(30)と前記乗員の間の距離を前記センサ(26,58)を用いて繰り返し求めることによって、前記エアバッグ(20,60)の展開を制御する、請求項1に記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 前記エアバッグ(20,60)の、導電性の前記部分(30)と前記乗員の間の距離の、時間に関する微分係数の少なくとも1つが求められる、請求項11に記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 前記コントローラ(38,72)は、前記センサ(26,58)からのデータを処理し、前記センサと前記乗員の間の距離の、時間に関する微分係数の少なくとも1つを計算し、前記コントローラによって前記排気機構(40)を制御し、前記エアバッグが、完全な展開の、選択された割合に達する前に前記乗員に衝突するのが前記コントローラ(38,72)によって予測された場合に前記排気機構を開く、請求項13に記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 前記コントローラ(38,72)は、前記エアバッグ(20,60)が、完全な展開の、選択された割合に達したか否かを監視し、完全な展開の、前記選択された割合に達したら、前記排気機構(40)が開かないようにする、請求項13に記載のエアバッグシステム。
- 前記センサ(26)はコンデンサーであり、前記センサと前記乗員の間の距離は、前記コンデンサーの電気的な値によって求められる、請求項14に記載のエアバッグシステム。
