Abstract
【解決手段】常圧滴下貼り合わせ方式を用いた液晶表示パネルの製造方法において、配向膜形成後の洗浄、乾燥工程後に減圧雰囲気中で基板を加熱する処理を行い、液晶滴下直前に特殊な形状のノズルを用いて吸引する処理又は超音波を印加した気体を吹き付ける処理を行うことにより、基板に付着した異物を除去し、液晶表示パネルの信頼性の劣化を抑制し、明点不良などの表示不良を低減して歩留まりを向上させる。また、シール材の本硬化の温度を低温化することにより、有機物の活性化(マイグレーション)を抑制し、配向輝点などの表示不良を低減して歩留まりを向上させる。

Claims (5)
- 一対の基板の一方に常圧で液晶を滴下し、シール材を用いて前記一方の基板と他方の基板とを貼り合わせる液晶表示パネルの製造方法において、
前記一対の基板に形成した配向膜にラビング処理を行った後の洗浄、乾燥工程後に、前記一対の基板に対して、減圧雰囲気中で加熱する真空乾燥処理を行うことを特徴とする液晶表示パネルの製造方法。 - 一対の基板の一方に常圧で液晶を滴下し、シール材を用いて前記一方の基板と他方の基板とを貼り合わせる液晶表示パネルの製造方法において、
前記一方の基板に常圧で前記液晶を滴下する前に、前記一対の基板に対して、所定の形状のノズル先端近傍に発生する気流により異物を吸引する吸引処理、又は、超音波が印加された気流を吹き付けて異物を除去する吹き付け処理の少なくとも一方を行うことを特徴とする液晶表示パネルの製造方法。 - 一対の基板の一方に常圧で液晶を滴下し、シール材を用いて前記一方の基板と他方の基板とを貼り合わせる液晶表示パネルの製造方法において、
前記シール材の硬化処理は、前記一対の基板を貼り合わせた直後に行う仮硬化処理と、前記一対の基板に所望のギャップが形成された後に行う本硬化処理とからなり、
前記本硬化処理を前記シール材の最低硬化温度で行うことを特徴とする液晶表示パネルの製造方法。 - 前記本硬化処理を略80℃で行うことを特徴とする請求項3記載の液晶表示パネルの製造方法。
- 請求項1記載の前記真空乾燥処理、請求項2記載の前記吸引処理又は前記吹き付け処理、及び、請求項3又は4に記載の前記本硬化処理の中から選択される2以上の処理を行うことを特徴とする液晶表示パネルの製造方法。
