- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 昆虫に対し機能活性を有するホトルハブダスタンパク質毒素の有効量を含む ことを特徴とする組成物。 2. ホトルハブダス毒素がホトルハブダスの精製培養物、トランスジェニック植 物、バキュロウイルス、または異種微生物宿主により産生された請求の範囲第 1項に記載の組成物。 3. ホトルハブダス毒素がホトルハブダス・ルミネセンスの精製培養物により産 生された請求の範囲第2項に記載の組成物。 4. 毒素がATCC 55397と指定されたホトルハブダス・ルミネセンス株の精製培養 物から産生された請求の範囲第2項に記載の組成物。 5. 毒素がW-14と称されるホトルハブダス・ルミネセンス株の精製培養物により 産生された請求の範囲第2項に記載の組成物。 6. 毒素がWX-1、WX-2、WX-3、WX-4、WX-5、WX-6、WX-7、WX-8、WX-9、WX-10、W X-11、WX-12、WX-14、WX-15、H9、Hb、Hm、HP88、NC-1、W30、WIR、ATCC#4394 8、ATCC#43949、ATCC#43950、ATCC#43951、またはATCC#43952と称されるホト ルハブダス株の精製培養物により産生された請求の範囲第1項に記載の組成物 。 7. 毒素がWX-1、WX-2、WX-3、WX-4、WX-5、WX-6、WX-7、WX-8、WX-9、WX-10、W X-11、WX-12、WX-14、WX-15、H9、Hb、Hm、HP88、NC-1、W30、WIR、ATCC#4394 物である請求の範囲第6項に記載の組成物。 10.昆虫カルピドプテラ目、コレオプテラ目、ハイメノプテラ目、ジプテラ目、 ジクチオプテラ目、アカリナ目またはホモプテラ目の昆虫である請求の範囲第 1項または第6項に記載の組成物。 11.昆虫種がコレオプテラ目からの種であり、サザン・コーン・ルートワーム、 ウェスタン・コーン・ルートワーム、コロラド・ジャガイモ・カブトムシ、コ ナムシ、ボール・ウィービルまたはターフ・グラブである請求の範囲第1項ま たは第6項に記載の組成物。 12.昆虫種がレピドプテラ目からの種であり、ビート・アーミィワーム、ブラッ ク・カットワーム、キャベツ・ルーパー、コドリング・モス、コーン・イアー ワーム、ヨーロピアン・コーン・ボラー、タバコ・ホーンワームまたはタバコ ・バドワームである請求の範囲第1項または第6項に記載の組成物。 13.毒素が噴霧可能な殺虫剤として製剤化される請求の範囲第1項または第6項 に記載の組成物。 14.毒素がバイトマトリックスとして製剤化され、地上または地下のバイトステ ーションに送出される請求の範囲第1項または第6項に記載の組成物。 15.昆虫に対し機能活性を有する有効量のタンパク質毒素を昆虫に経口送出し、 そのタンパク質がホトルハブダス属の精製バクテリア培養物により産生される ことを特徴とする昆虫の防除方法。 16.バクテリアがホトルハブダス・ルミネセンスの精製培養物である請求の範囲 第15項に記載の方法。 17.毒素がATCC 55397と指定されたホトルハブダス・ルミネセンス株の精製培養 物から産生される請求の範囲第15項に記載の方法。 18.毒素がW-14と称されるホトルハブダス・ルミネセンス株の精製培養物から産 生された請求の範囲第16項に記載の方法。 22.毒素が毒素をコードする遺伝子で形質転換された原核生物宿主により産生さ れた請求の範囲第15項に記載の方法。 23.毒素が毒素をコードする遺伝子で形質転換された真核生物宿主により産生さ れた請求の範囲第15項に記載の方法。 24.真核生物宿主がバキュロウイルスである請求の範囲第23項に記載の方法。 25.昆虫カルピドプテラ目、コレオプテラ目、ハイメノプテラ目、ジプテラ目、 センスから遺伝子物質を単離するのに使用することを特徴とするタンパク質サ ブユニットをコードする遺伝子の単離方法。 31.タンパク質が昆虫に対し機能活性を有するような有効量で原核生物宿主また は真核生物宿主中でホトルハブダス属の精製バクテリア培養物により産生され るタンパク質を発現する方法であって、その方法が5'から3'にプロモーター、 タンパク質をコードするDNA配列、転写ターミネーターを有するキメラDN A構築物を構築し、次いてキメラDNA構築物を宿主に移入することを特徴と する発現方法。 32.タンパク質がコレオプテラ目、レピドプテラ目、ジプテラ目、ホモプテラ目 、ハイメノプテラ目、ジクチオプテラ目、及びアカリナ目からなる群から選ば れた昆虫に対し機能活性を有する請求の範囲第31項に記載の方法。
