、防音パッドがボディの表面、例えば、床、天井、防火壁などに取り付けられる
。防音パッドの意図は、車両の運動、エンジンの操作及び任意の可動部品により
生じる音を消し、振動を減らすことである。
。遮音は、通常、伝搬の途中で音波を遮断し、伝搬音のレベルを初期の音のレベ
ルより小さくすることにより行われる。音のエネルギーを低減することができる
材料は、遮音材料として使用可能であり、その性能は表面密度、曲げ剛性及び内
部損失により決定される。所定の周波数領域においては、重量が大きい程、高い
遮音効果が得られる結果となる。かくして、大量の金属粉末、炭酸カルシウム、
ガラスファイバーまたは他の充填剤を包含する高密度樹脂混合物を使用すること
が知られている。また、日本特許出願公開No.18538/1986に記述さ
れているように発泡材料にアスファルトを含浸することも知られている。

ス等の粒子、タルク、マイカ等の種々のフレーク、ワラストナイト及びガラスフ
ァイバー等の種々のファイバーを大量に含む樹脂が含まれる。

ット層である。ラミネートの全重量は少なく、音を消したり、振動を減衰させる
慣用の手段に比較して、20から30ポンドが車両の全重量から低減され得る。

分散性ポリウレタン、及びブタジエンとスチレン、アクリロニトリルまたはメチ
ルメタクリレートとのコポリマーが含まれる。好適なアクリルエステルには、ア
ルキルアクリレート及びメタクリレート、例えばメチルアクリレート、エチルア
クリレート、プロピルアクリレート、イソプロピルアクリレート、ブチルアクリ
レート、t−ブチルアクリレート、ヘキシルアクリレート、ヘプチルアクリレー
ト、2−エチルヘキシルアクリレート、デシルアクリレート、ドデシルアクリレ
ート、メチルメタクリレート、エチルメタクリレート、n−ブチルメタクリレー
ト、等々が含まれる。例えば、2−メチルブタノール、3−メチルブタノール、
2−エチルブタノール、4−メチルペンタノール、2−プロピルペンタノール、
n−ヘキサノール、2−メチルヘキサノール、4−メチルヘキサノール、2−ヘ
キサノール、2−エチルヘキサノール、4−エチルヘキサノール、4−メチル−
2−ペンタノール、2,3,4−トリエチルヘキサノール、2−エチル−3−メ
チルヘキサノール、2−ヘプタノール、3−ヘプタノール、3−メチルヘプタノ
ール、2−エチルヘプタノール、2−メチル−4−エチルヘプタノール、n−オ
クタノール、イソオクタノール、n−デカノール、n−ドデカノール、10−ク
ロロデカノール、及び6−メトキシヘキサノール、を含む非3級アルコールのア
クリル酸エステルも使用してよい。

れる。ポリウレタンフォームが低コスト、軽量及び構造的剛性のために好ましい
。好ましい具体的なポリウレタンフォームはフォーメックス(Foamex;カ
ナダ、トロント、オンタリオ)から市販されている。別な好適なポリウレタンフ
ォームは、その開示をことごとく包含して引用するGrabhoferらの米国
特許第4,508,774号に記述されている。フォームの厚さは、好ましくは
約0.05から1.0インチ、更に好ましくは約0.20から0.60インチで
ある。
着層30は位置を変えることができるものである。粘弾性接着層20と比較して
、この接着層は同一あるいは異なるポリマーであってよい。これらの材料には、
天然及び合成ゴム、アクリルエステルポリマー及びコポリマー、例えばスチレン

クリレート、ブチルアクリレート、t−ブチルアクリレート、ヘキシルアクリレ
ート、ヘプチルアクリレート、2−エチルヘキシルアクリレート、デシルアクリ
レート、ドデシルアクリレート、メチルメタクリレート、エチルメタクリレート
、n−ブチルメタクリレート等々が含まれる。例えば、2−メチルブタノール、
3−メチルブタノール、2−エチルブタノール、4−メチルペンタノール、2−
プロピルペンタノール、n−ヘキサノール、2−メチルヘキサノール、4−メチ
ルヘキサノール、2−ヘキサノール、2−エチルヘキサノール、4−エチルヘキ
サノール、4−メチル−2−ペンタノール、2,3,4−トリエチルヘキサノー
ル、2−エチル−3−メチルヘキサノール、2−ヘプタノール、3−ヘプタノー
ル、3−メチルヘプタノール、2−エチルヘプタノール、2−メチル−4−エチ
ルヘプタノール、n−オクタノール、イソオクタノール、n−デカノール、n−
ドデカノール、10−クロロデカノール、及び6−メトキシヘキサノール、を含
む非3級アルコールのアクリル酸エステルも使用することができる。
カルズ(Air Products and Chemicals,Inc.,
Allentown,Pennsylvania)から市販されているフレック
スクリル 1625であり、高固形分、水ベースのアクリルである。粘弾性接着
層20の厚さは、約0.005から0.010インチである。感圧接着層30の
厚さは、約0.005から0.010インチである。

トであり得る。
熱成形プロセスにおいては、予め設定された寸法のフォームの間隔形成層のブラ
ンクをカーテン塗装により供給して、粘弾性層20を施す。接着剤を硬化させる
(例えば、オーブンを用いて)。束縛層を被せる。フォームの間隔形成層/粘弾
性層を積層し、次に型またはツール(tool)を用いて熱成形に先立ち予備加熱す
る。一緒にされた剥離層/感圧層を型またはツール中に入れ、それに相対してフ
ォームの間隔形成層/粘弾性層を置き、全部を所望の形状にプレスする。

ーナー、発電機、ステレオ装置、プリンターなどでも使用することができるのは

重量パーセントである。
ミニウム箔、0.006インチ厚のエア・プロダクツ1625(Air Pro
ducts 1625)のアクリルの粘弾性層、0.5インチ厚のフォーメック
スインターナショナルのポリウレタンフォーム(Foamex Interna
tional polyurethane foam)、0.006インチ厚の
エア製品1625のアクリルの感圧接着層及び0.002インチ厚のフォックス
・リバー・アソシエーツ(Fox River Associates)の剥離
層を含んでなるラミネートが提供される。図3に示されるように、ASTM E
−756オバーストビーム(Oberst Beam)測定を種々の温度で行う
。この振動減衰性ラミネートは、減衰の慣用の手段に比較して改良された減衰特
性を有する。

変更及び変形を行うことができることを認識するであろう。

Claims (16)
- 【請求項1】 箔の束縛層、粘弾性層、フォームの間隔形成層及び剥離層を
含む感圧接着層を含んでなる振動減衰性ラミネートであって、前記感圧接着層及
び剥離層が車両の内装の輪郭にフィットするように輪郭付けされた、車両の内装
に使用するための振動減衰性ラミネート。 - 【請求項2】 更に、前記箔の束縛層上に配置された装飾布の層を含んでな
る請求項1に記載の振動減衰性ラミネート。 - 【請求項3】 更に、前記箔の束縛層に接合されたカーペット層を含んでな
る請求項1に記載の振動減衰性ラミネート。 - 【請求項4】 前記箔の束縛層がアルミニウム箔であり、約0.001から
0.01インチの厚さを有する請求項1に記載の振動減衰性ラミネート。 - 【請求項5】 前記ポリウレタンフォームの間隔形成層が10から300,
000psiの曲げ弾性率を有し、約0.1から1.0インチの厚さである請求
項1に記載の振動減衰性ラミネート。 - 【請求項6】 感圧接着層が水性アクリル接着剤である請求項1に記載の振
動減衰性ラミネート。 - 【請求項7】 粘弾性層が水性アクリル樹脂である請求項1に記載の振動減
衰性ラミネート。 - 【請求項8】 前記輪郭が自動車のフロアパンである請求項1に記載の振動
減衰性ラミネート。 - 【請求項9】 箔の束縛層、前記束縛層の下に置かれかつ接触している粘弾
性層、剥離層を含む感圧接着層及び前記粘弾性層と前記感圧接着層との間に配置
されたポリウレタンフォームの間隔形成層を含んでなる振動減衰性ラミネート。 - 【請求項10】 更に、前記箔の束縛層上に配置された装飾布層を含んでな
る請求項9に記載の振動減衰性ラミネート。 - 【請求項11】 更に、前記箔の束縛層に接合されたカーペットの層を含ん
でなる請求項9に記載の振動減衰性ラミネート。 - 【請求項12】 前記箔の束縛層がアルミニウム箔であり、約0.001イ
ンチから0.01インチの厚さを有する請求項9に記載の振動減衰性ラミネート
。 - 【請求項13】 前記ポリウレタンフォームの間隔形成層が10から300
,000psiの曲げ弾性率を有し、約0.1から1.0インチの厚さである請
