Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 下記工程a)〜c)を含んでなる、スピネル構造のリチウムマンガン酸 化物LixMn2O4+ δを製造する方法。 a) 酸化マンガン(Mn酸化物)と、リチウム塩および水酸化リチウムおよ びそれらの混合物から成る群より選択される反応成分、とを含んでなる反応混合 物を形成させ、 b) 前記酸化マンガンを前記反応混合物中で反応させて、化学量論式 LixMn2O4+ δ(ここで0.9<x<1.2かつ0<δ<0.4)を有するス ピネル構造のリチウムマンガン酸化物を実質的に形成させることなしに、リチウ ム化酸化マンガンLix(Mn酸化物)(ここで0.015<x<0.2)を形 成させ、 c) 前記リチウム化酸化マンガンLix(Mn酸化物)を、リチウム塩およ び水酸化リチウムおよびそれらの混合物から成る群より選択される反応成分と反 応させて、スピネル構造のリチウムマンガン酸化物LixMn2O4+ δ (ここで0.9<x<1.2かつ0<δ<0.4)を生成させる。 2. 前記反応混合物中の前記酸化マンガン反応成分(Mn酸化物)が、 MnO2、Mn2O3、Mn3O4およびMnOOHおよびそれらのいずれかの混合 物から成る群より選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。 3. 前記工程(a)および(c)におけるリチウム塩が、硝酸リチウム、酢 酸リチウム、硫酸リチウムおよび炭酸リチウムおよびそれらのいずれかの混合物 から成る群より選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。 4. 工程(c)において、前記リチウム化酸化マンガン(Lix(Mn酸化 物))を反応させてスピネル構造の前記リチウムマンガン酸化物を生成する前に 、このリチウム化酸化マンガンを前記反応混合物から分離する工程をさらに含む 、 請求項1に記載の方法。 5. 工程(b)における前記反応を、工程(c)における反応を実施する温 度範囲より低い温度範囲内で実施する、請求項1に記載の方法。 6. 工程(b)における前記反応を、約4〜400℃の温度範囲内で実施す る、請求項5に記載の方法。 7. 工程(c)における前記反応を、約650℃〜900℃の温度範囲内で 実施する、請求項6に記載の方法。 8. 工程(a)における前記酸化マンガン反応成分が二酸化マンガンを含ん でなる、請求項1に記載の方法。 9. 下記工程a)〜c)を含んでなる、スピネル構造のリチウムマンガン酸 化物LixMn2O4+ δを製造する方法。 a) 二酸化マンガンと、リチウム塩および水酸化リチウムおよびそれらのい ずれかの混合物から成る群より選択される反応成分とを含んでなる反応混合物を 形成させ、 b) 前記二酸化マンガンを前記反応混合物中で反応させて、化学量論式 LixMn2O4+ δ(ここで0.9<x<1.2かつ0<δ<0.4)を有するス ピネル構造のリチウムマンガン酸化物を実質的に形成させることなしに、リチウ ム化二酸化マンガンLixMnO2(ここで0.015<x<0.2)を形成させ 、 c) 前記リチウム化二酸化マンガンLixMnO2を炭酸リチウムと反応させ て、スピネル構造のリチウムマンガン酸化物LixMn2O4+ δ(ここで0.9< x<1.2かつ0<δ<0.4)を生成させる。 10. 工程(b)における前記反応を、工程(c)における反応を実施する 温度範囲より低い温度範囲内で実施する、請求項9に記載の方法。 11. 工程(b)における前記反応を、約4〜400℃の温度範囲内で実施 する、請求項10に記載の方法。 12. 工程(c)における前記反応を、約650℃〜800℃の温度範囲内 で実施する、請求項11に記載の方法。 13. 工程(c)において、前記リチウム化酸化マンガン(Lix(Mn酸 化物))を反応させてスピネル構造の前記リチウムマンガン酸化物を生成する前 に、このリチウム化酸化マンガンを前記反応混合物から分離する工程をさらに含 む、請求項9に記載の方法。 14. 工程(a)における反応混合物が電解二酸化マンガン(EMD)と、 水酸化リチウムとを含んでなり、そして前記混合物のpHが7〜14のレベルで ある、請求項9に記載の方法。 15. 下記工程a)〜d)を含んでなる、スピネル構造のリチウムマンガン 酸化物LixMn2O4+ δを製造する方法。 a) 二酸化マンガンと、リチウム塩および水酸化リチウムおよびそれらのい ずれかの混合物から成る群より選択される反応成分とを含んでなる反応混合物を 形成させ、 b) 前記二酸化マンガンを前記反応混合物中で反応させて、化学量論式 LixMn2O4+ δ(ここで0.9<x<1.2かつ0<δ<0.4)を有するス ピネル構造のリチウムマンガン酸化物を実質的に形成させることなしに、リチウ ム化二酸化マンガンLixMnO2(ここで0.015<x<0.2)を形成させ 、 c) 前記リチウム化二酸化マンガンを加熱して、リチウムマンガンセスキオ キシド(LixMn2O3)を生成させ、そして d) 前記リチウムマンガンセスキオキシドを炭酸リチウムと反応させて、ス ピネル構造のリチウムマンガン酸化物LixMn2O4+ δ (ここで0.9<x<1.2かつ0<δ<0.4)を生成させる。 16. 工程(b)における前記反応を、約4〜400℃の温度範囲内で実施 する、請求項15に記載の方法。 17. 工程(d)における前記反応を、約650℃〜900℃の温度範囲内 で実施する、請求項16に記載の方法。 18. 工程(c)における前記反応を、約550℃〜600℃の温度範囲内 で実施する、請求項17に記載の方法。 19. 工程(a)における反応混合物が電解二酸化マンガン(EMD)と、 水酸化リチウムとを含んでなり、そして前記混合物のpHが7〜14のレベルで ある、請求項15に記載の方法。 20. 化学量論式LixMn2O4+ δ(ここで0.9<x<1.2かつ0<δ <0.4)を有するスピネル構造のリチウムマンガン酸化物を含んでなる正電極 からなり、前記リチウムマンガン酸化物が請求項1に記載の方法により製造され ていることを特徴とする、リチウムまたはリチウムイオンを含んでなる負電極と 、正電極と、それらの間の電解質とを有する型の二次(再充電可能な)電池。
