Abstract
Una combinazione erogatrice di mercurio atta a rilasciare quantità di mercurio superiore al 60% durante la fase di attivazione, anche dopo parziale ossidazione, comprende un composto intermetallico A dispensatore di mercurio con Hg ed un secondo metallo scelto tra Ti, Zr e loro miscele, nonché una lega o un composto intermetallico B promotore comprendenti Cu ed un secondo metallo scelto tra Sn, In o Ag o loro combinazioni. Viene descritto anche un dispositivo erogatore di mercurio che contiene una combinazione dei materiali A e B, oltre ad un procedimento per l'introduzione di mercurio all'interno di tubi elettronici consistente nell'inserire nel tubo aperto uno di tali dispositivi riscaldandolo poi per liberare Hg ad una temperatura compresa tra 550 e 900°C dopo la chiusura del tubo.
