Abstract

Viene realizzato un procedimento che è in grado di asportare impurità da un gas idrogeno contenente impurezze senza generare metano. Un letto (110) di nichel in particelle in una quantità di almeno l'1% in peso come elemento nichel ad una temperatura da 0 a 50°C asporta tutte le impurità tranne l'azoto. Successivamente un letto (118) di materiale getter, una lega di zirconio, vanadio e ferro, ad una temperatura di 200-500°C, asporta l'impurezza azoto producendo così idrogeno purificato con un contenuto di impurezze inferiore a 20 ppb. Viene anche descritto un purificatore per realizzare tale procedimento.
