Abstract

Rivestimenti pirolitici di ossido di stagno formati su vetro calcio-sodico, in particolare quelli formati a partire da un precursore di cloruro di stagno, sono affetti da nebulosità all'interfaccia vetro-rivestimento a causa della migrazione di ioni sodio dal vetro nel rivestimento. I rivestimenti di ossido di stagno presentano anche iridiscenza in certi spessori. Per ridurre l'iridiscenza e fornire una barriera contro l'incorporazione di sodio nello strato di ossido di stagno, si munisce dapprima il vetro di uno stato di rivestimento inferiore di metallo ossidato che contiene alluminio con una percentuale ridotta di vanadio. Lo spessore ottico di rivestimento inferiore è scelto in modo da ridurre gli effetti di interferenza in luce visibile riflessa dovuti al rivestimento sovrastante di ossido di stagno. Un prodotto intermedio comprende un substrato di vetro che porta un rivestimento formato per pirolisi di metallo ossidato comprendente uno strato in cui detto metallo comprende alluminio con una piccola percentuale di vanadio e che ha un indice di rifrazione di almeno 1,67.
