Abstract

989,402. Cartons. P. S. NES. March 15, 1963 [April 2, 1962], No. 10452/63. Heading B8P. A carton made from a single blank has a bottom panel 15, side and end panels 18 and 19, 16 and 17, respectively, a cover flap connected to the panel 16, a top flap 23 overlapped by further top flaps 24 and 25 which have locking tongues 30 folded at right-angles to their top flaps and inserted in slits 32. Support flaps 26 and 27 are provided on panels 18 and 19, and the cover flap has a connecting portion 21 and a tapering locking flap 22 with recesses 29 for engaging the ends of a slit 28. The locking tongues may have their inner sides inclined inwardly as at 31, or may be tapered in which case the blank has slits in the flaps 24 and 25 through which the tongues are snapped after inward folding under the flap 23.
