In a dry shaver, a cutting block 24 with spaced parallel blades 26 is pivoted to an oscillating lever 16 by the snap-in engagement of trunnions 30 on a bush 29 in sockets 38 in a crosshead 34 secured to the cutting block, the blades being urged into cutting co-operation with a cutting foil 12 by a spring 31 which surrounds the lever, engages the bush 29 and is subject to compression but not flexure. The bush 29 slides and rotates on the lever 16 and a slot 27 in the block 24 engages a tongue 21 to prevent pivotal movement and misalignment of the block relatively to the casing 10 when the head frame 11 carrying the bowed foil 12 is removed, so that damage to the blades is avoided on replacement of the frame. The crosshead is secured to the cutting block by a screw 36 and has a recess to receive, with clearance, the bush 29, the trunnions or the sockets being of resilient material, e.g. moulded synthetic resin, and lugs 40 being provided to guide the snap-in engagement thereof. A moustache &c. trimmer, having a stationary blade 42, and a blade 41 reciprocated by a stud 45 on the lever 16, is provided, the trimmer being non-operative when the head frame is reversed relatively to the casing 10. In modifications, the sockets are provided on the lever and the trunnions, or a single trunnion, on the cutting block. Specification 965,791 is referred to.
