Abstract

1456875 Dry shavers SPERRY RAND CORP 17 June 1974 [30 July 1973] 26753/74 Heading B4B A hair trimmer device for a motor operated electric shaver comprises a housing 11 e.g. of plastics material, stationary and movable cutters 80, 100 mounted within the housing and each having cooperating teeth 90, 110, the movable cutter being connected to a support means 120 adapted to be driven by the shaver motor, and holding means 135 for resiliently interlocking the stationary and movable cutters but permitting relative movement therebetween. The stationary cutter 86 is secured to the inside of the housing by means of shoulder portions 88 and slot 93 on the cutter engaging, respectively, with hooks 67 and post 70 formed in the housing. The support means 120 e.g. of moulded plastics material, is provided with hooks 133, 134 adapted to clip on to the movable cutter 100; the support is also formed with resilient arms 131 such that when the trimmer is mounted on the shaver, the arms are pressed against a drive arm 57 of the shaver, thereby urging the stationary cutter against support walls 72, 73 in the housing. The cutting teeth are urged together by means of a spring 135 which engages with hooks 92 formed on the stationary cutter and with legs 124 formed on the support means 120. The housing is connected by screws 76 to a frame 62 having legs 32 in which are formed apertures 33 adapted to engage with lugs 56 formed on the shaver body 55. The movable blade is guided by means of posts 130 on the support means 120 engaging between the walls 72, 73, Fig. 3.
