Abstract

1302262 Dry shavers SUNBEAM CORP 5 June 1970 [6 June 1969] 27364/70 Heading B4B An electric dry shaver comprising a generally rectangular housing 21, a shaving head assembly 22 extending along one side of the housing, the head assembly having an outer shearing member 44 which is angled obliquely with respect to the general plane of the said one side of the housing. The shearing member 44 is mounted on a frame 31 which is mounted over the open end 25 of the housing. A pair of cutters 52 co-operate with the inner surface of the shearing member and are oscillated by an electric motor 27 via levers 58, 59, the electric motor being secured to the frame 31. The housing 21 is formed from two members 23, 24 held together at the open end by the frame and, at their opposite ends, by means of screws 100, Figs. 4 and 8, passing through washers 101 and screwing into a pair of yoke members 94, 95 which are arranged to serve as an additional support for the motor and also for a pair of batteries 28. A long-hair trimmer 65 is actuated by a drive arm 70, Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 (not shown) and a padded gripping surface 73 is provided.
