Class 131 A dry shaver comprises one or more shaving heads, each having a stationary guard and a movable inner cutter, the heads being arranged in a housing which can be temporarily attached to a handgrip having a part rotated by a source of motion through a flexible shaft and means being provided for transmitting movement from the rotated part to the movable cutter or cutters when the housing is attached to the handgrip. A handgrip 22, is supplied to a party of men having access to a source of motion, e.g. a vehicle engine and a housing 1 having perforated guards 5 each enclosing sliding cutter bars 8 and held in the housing by spring clips and spring-closed wings 2 is supplied to each man each housing being temporarily attached to the handgrip by the engagement of dowel pins 10 with apertures 26. The lower end of the handgrip is screwthreaded for attachment to a flexible shaft the movement of the core of the shaft being transmitted through a spindle 19 and crank pin 17 to a slider 14 having a projection 13 engaging a slot 12 in each cutter bar 8. The source of motion may be an electric motor supplied with current from a storage battery charged by a generator driven by a vehicle engine or from the mains, or a geared hand or foot motor fitted with a fly wheel. The speed of rotation of the core may be reduced by dividing the spindle 19 and coupling the parts by gearing in the handgrip. According to the Provisional Specification an electric motor is housed in the handgrip.
