Abstract

1,035,597. Dry shavers. G. KRATZ. June 29, 1965 [July 23, 1964], No. 27386/65. Heading B4B. In a dry shaver having a detachable cutter head consisting of a casing carrying a fixed cutter plate 4 and housing a cutter block 6 that is free to move in a clipping frame 5 and is connected to the reciprocating drive by an actuating pin 7, the pin is surrounded by a compression spring 12 bearing on the block 6 which is retained on the cutter head by a frame 5 but has freedom for substantial play so as to allow the spring to urge the block 6 against the plate 4. The block 6 has a carrier 8 with a funnel-shaped mouth to receive the pin 7, the diameter of the lower end of the mouth being large enough to receive the pin at any position of the pin in its reciprocating path. The spring 12 bears against the carrier 8 and is retained on the pin 7 and secured by a washer 14 and a locking pin 15 secured to the pin 7. The frame 5 is formed from spring steel sheet pivoted to the cutter head casing along one side and clipped to the casing along the other side. The carrier 8 may be of plastics material and is clipped, by means of two locking flanges 9, to the uppermost of three tubes 10 on which transverse cutting blades 11 are mounted.
