Abstract

1,254,137. Dry shavers. MATSUSHITA DENKO K.K. 22 May, 1969 [31 May, 1968; 30 Nov., 1968; 6 Dec., 1968; 13 Dec., 1968; 26 Feb., 1969], No. 26269/69. Heading B4B. An electric dry shaver comprises a number of movable cutter blades 11, 11<SP>1</SP> urged by a spring member 12 into contact with an outer cutter' blade 10 which is provided with upper blade parts 22, 22<SP>1</SP> and side blade parts 24, 24<SP>1</SP> adapted to co-operate with blade parts 21, 21<SP>1</SP> and 23, 23<SP>1</SP> respectively, the spring member being provided with inclined slots 28, 28<SP>1</SP> and 29, 29<SP>1</SP> for urging the movable cutter blades in an upward and diagonal direction. The movable cutter blades 11, 11<SP>1</SP> are provided with lugs 25, 25<SP>1</SP> and 26, 26<SP>1</SP> adapted to engage in the inclined slots 28, 28<SP>1</SP> and 29, 291 in the spring member 12. The movable cutter blades are formed with cut-outs 19<SP>1</SP> which engage with the end 18 of a drive lever 16. The spring 12 is also formed with a part 31 for engagement with the end 18. The lever is oscillated by means of an electric motor 50 secured to a frame (33, Fig. 7) in which the lever is pivoted; the motor shaft is fitted with an eccentric (55) engaging the lever. The outer cutter blade 10 is provided with a base-plate 15 having a pair of openings 32, 32<SP>1</SP> through which pass the ends of levers 34, 34<SP>1</SP> urged outwardly by springs 36, 361. The open ends of the cutter-head assembly are normally closed by spring-loaded covers 6, 6<SP>1</SP> which may be opened by press-buttons 7, 7<SP>1</SP>.
