Abstract

1350652 Dry showers RONSON CORP 19 April 1971 [13 April 1970] 26689/71 Heading B4B An electric dry shaver comprises facial shaving means 15, 16 mounted on a housing 12 and driven by a motor contained therein, a long hair trimmer 45, 48 and means 34 for selectively coupling the trimmer with the prime mover, the coupling means being movable between positions in which it is engaged with or disengaged from the prime mover. The coupling member 34 is pivotally connected to a movable blade 48 of the trimmer and is provided with a pair of legs 41, 42 adapted to be engaged with a drive pin 14 of the motor. The legs are normally held out of engagement with the drive pin by means of a cam 25 operated by a button 22 and arranged to act via a follower 32 on an arm 35 of the coupling as shown in Fig. 3. Upon release of the button the coupling moves under the action of a spring 54, Fig. 7, so that the legs engage the pin. In a modification, the hinging arrange. ment of the coupling with the cutter 48 shown in Fig. 7 is replaced by a projection (61), Fig. 10 (not shown) on the coupling engaging in a cutout (60).
