Abstract

827,768. Dry shavers. ARVIN ELECTRIC Ltd. June 3, 1958 [March 7, 1957], No. 7574/57. Class 131 A dry shaver of the kind disclosed in Specifications 788,304 and 788,305 has a long hair trimmer movable from a retracted position to a projecting, operative position. The trimmer, which is pivotably mounted on a hinge pin 20 seated in recesses in the casing 6, is urged to the operative position by a torsion spring 21 on release of a pivoted spring-urged catch 22. The trimmer comprises an inner toothed plate 26 urged by a plate spring 28 and leaf spring 30 into cutting co-operation with an outer toothed plate 16, a tongue 31 from the plate 16 engaging between projections 32 on a nylon drive bar 33 reciprocated by engagement with an extension of the armature 8. In retracted position of the trimmer the togue 31 is swung clear of the driving member to automatically disengage the drive.
