Abstract

1,039,958. Dry shavers. SUNBEAM CORPORATION. May 24, 1965 [June 17, 1964], No. 21900/65. Heading B4B. In an electric dry shaver comprising an oscillating cutter shaft 32 provided with cutting blades 37 co-operable with an arcuate comb 39, a clipper blade 58 is mounted for reciprocable movement in a direction perpendicular to the cutter shaft axis against a planar comb 61. The blade 58 has a U-shaped channel portion 58a movable in a recess 56 in an end cap 44, the portion 58a having a central opening 60 engaged by a force transmitting member 55 on the end of a drive lever 54 mounted on an extension 32a of the cutter shaft. The blade 58 is biased against the comb 61 by means of a pair of coiled compression springs housed in recesses in the end cap 44 and flanking the lever 54, the upper ends of the springs bearing against protuberances in the bight of the portion 58a. The blade 58 and comb 61 are provided with teeth 58b and 61a respectively.
