[Also in Division H2] In an electric dry shaver of the kind disclosed in Specification 663,292, a plurality of cutter blades 21a, 21b, 21c coact with a comb 22 and are oscillated by an electric motor 24, the motor and cutter blades being housed within a casing 23 which comprises a cup-shaped portion 26, Fig. 4, and end caps 27, 28 and the motor being controlled by a switch 92 having a knob 97 which extends through an opening 95 in a shelf 28b of the end cap 28. Each end cap has a pair of side notches 34 engageable by lugs 39d on a head member secured to the motor 24. The knob 97 is rotatable about an integral stud portion 97a which extends through an opening in an insulating plate 93 the side edges of which are received in grooves defined between shoulder portions 28a of the end cap 28. When the knob 97 is rotated, a switch blade 101, Fig. 7, moves with a snap action between a stop-pin 104 and a contact pin 105. The motor and cutter blades are supported within casing 23 by means of bearing blocks 50, 51 which are each provided with T-shaped extensions 50a, 51a, Fig. 6, which define opposed grooves 73, 74 to receive portions of a clamp member 75 secured to the casing. The cutter shaft 85 carries four supports 115a to 115d each having slots 120 within which the cutter blades are supported by wire springs 123a to 123c. Each spring has a central U- shaped portion disposed between the supports 115b, 115c and within slots 124 formed in these supports as extensions of the slots 120 but separated therefrom by wall portions 125, Fig. 4. Upstanding angular end portions of the springs are secured within the slots 120 of supports 115a, 115d beneath the cutter blades. The end of each spring includes a lateral projection 126, Fig. 2, so as to engage the underside of the blades, this projection, when the associated blade is removed, engaging a lateral projection 127 provided on the supports 115a, 115d. Each cutter blade has hook-shaped projections engageable below the wall portions 125 of supports 115b, 115c. The comb, which is supported by frame members 135a to 135d, has at one end cutting teeth 140, Fig. 3, the inside surfaces of which co-operate with an end cutting portion 146 of each of the cutter blades to provide a trimming action. To protect the cutting edge, when the shaver is not in use, a comb guard 149 has recesses engageable with dimples 150 on the comb. The comb is held in position on arcuate surfaces 39c, 43a by means of a pair of comb locks 152, 153, Fig. 9. The lock 152 has a spring 158 provided with a portion engageable with the inside of the comb to removably hold lugs 152b of the lock in engagement with openings 157 in frame member 135d. The look 153 includes a single lug 153b engageable in an opening 161 at the centre of frame member 135d, the look 153 being released by means of a pivotally-mounted latch 162 and on such release, the spring 158, biases the comb to the open position, Fig. 2.
