Class 131 A cutting head for an electric dry shaver comprises a spring yoke having a base and upstanding terminal arms, an outer stationary cutter overlying, and an inner reciprocated cutter between, the arms and means, released by outward or inward flexure, respectively, of the arms, for retaining the cutters relatively to the yoke. As shown, the outer and inner cutters 1, 3 have cooperating toothed flanges 34, 20 and telescoping central channels. A filler block 2 is secured to the base 21 of the inner cutter 3 which has an aperture 43 receiving the drive shaft 14 and projections 22 engaged by compression springs 5 secured to a spring yoke 4 to which the inner cutter is assembled by engagement of the ends of the channel beneath shoulders 18, pressed out from the arms 11 of the yoke, by release of the arms after outward flexure to receive the cutter. The channel of the outer cutter 1 overlies the arms 11 and is provided with bayonet slots 32 in which the arms are engaged after inward flexure, end portions 33 being retained beneath shoulders 17 of the arms 11 on release. Application of the outer cutter to the assembled inner cutter and yoke, compresses springs 5, urging the portions 33 into contact with the shoulders 17 whereas the offset of the shoulders 18 provides a space 36 in which the base of the inner cutter moves without frictional contact. Openings 16 in the arms formed by pressing up the shoulders 17, 18 receive latch members 55 of a retaining spring 6 looped around posts 51 on the motor casing 50. A rubber &c. pad 56 prevents the entry of hair clippings into the motor cavity.
