Class 131. - In a multiple head assembly for an electric dry shaver vertically adjustable members are provided between the heads to vary the amount of penetration of the skin into the spaces between the heads. As shown, three cutting heads, each consisting of spring-urged inner cutters 2 reciprocated relatively to apertured outer cutters 1 by a pressure block 11 which engages a drive lever 12, are secured by clips 30 to a U-section cradle 20, the central head being positioned between upstanding webs 24 of the cradle and the outer heads 14, 15 seated on base portions 21. The cradle is preferably moulded in two parts as shown in Fig. 6, the parts being held together by pins 80 and holes 81 without the use of adhesive or screws. The vertically adjustable members controlling penetration of the skin are formed by out-turned edges 43 of a U-section member 40 seated in the cradle beneath the central head and urged inwardly by a spring 50 which is positioned in the member 40 by lugs 51 engaging slots 45 and abuts the base channel 3 of the centre head. The edges 43 are urged outwards against the action of the spring 50 by a slide 60 having finger-hold ends 61 and cams 62, 63 which abut tabs 48, 49 bent up from the base 41 of the member 40. A retainer plate 70, locating the slide 60 in a recess 28 in the cradle, has spring tabs 71 for snap engagement in lugs 29 on the cradle to hold the parts of the cradle together and has detents 72 which engage openings 64, 65, 66 to retain the slide in adjusted position, the entire multiple cutting head, including the adjustment members being mounted as a selfcontained sub-assembly on the shaver casing, e.g. by the side bars 82 of the cradle.
