Abstract

967,510. Transformers and inductors. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 19, 1962 [Oct. 19, 1961], No. 37561/61. Heading H1T. Coils are wound on part of a pot-type core which is secured in situ and carries either the central core part 3 or a former 8 or both, the other core parts being then assembled to complete the device. The closure member 7 may carry the central core member 3, or the cylindrical part of the core may have open ends, one of the closure disc parts then carrying the central core member, or the core may be formed of two interfitting part-cylindrical members, as described in Specifications 967,507, 967,508 and 967,509. The former may be attached by adhesive to that part of the core structure not containing the central core part 3 which is then secured in situ in the apparatus prior to winding of the coil, and the whole assembly may be fixed by a bolt passed through an axial hole (6, 7) in the structure. The core members may be of ferrite. One length of conductor may be used to wind coils in series on several cores and this may then be connected to terminals, or direct to the apparatus.
