Abstract

917,802. Transformers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. June 20, 1961 [Aug. 1 1960], No. 22155/61. Class 38 (2). A transformer comprises a nylon bobbin 29 carrying a winding 30 and mounted on and insulated from a magnetic core 16 by flanges 36, 37 and flaps 54, 55 formed integrally therewith, which flaps are pressed down between the core and the coil as the core is inserted. The core comprises two stacks of E-shaped laminations 12, 13 with an air-gap between the central legs 23, 24, carrying the coil. The flanges 36, 37 have slots such as 49a through which the winding ends pass, anchored to the flanges by anchor pins 51, 52, 53 and insulated from the core by a tab 42. Lip projections 46, 47 facilitate insertion of central core members 23, 24 into the bobbin aperture 41 during assembly. The transformer is mounted in a pair of supporting clamps 27, 28.
