Abstract

1,058,693. Transformers and inductors. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. Oct. 2, 1963, No. 38837/63. Heading H1T. In the manufacture of a transformer or choke winding, its turns are compressed to a predetermined axial length and then bound together by an insulating strip which is wound under tension down the inside of the turns and up the outside, to maintain the axial length under load conditions. The insulating strip may be flexible and may include glass fibres which are subsequently bonded with hard setting resin. Groups of superimposed insulating bindings may be spaced peripherally around the electrical winding to provide axial cooling channels between coaxial windings.
