Abstract
967,508. Transformers and inductors. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 19, 1962 [Oct. 19, 1961], No. 37559/61. Heading H1T. A magnetic core structure consists of a cylindrical part 1 which has an internal flange 2 and whose ends are closed by parts 3, 6, one of which (3) carries a central core member 4 extending in the assembled structure either to meet part 6 or to leave a small air gap. The cylindrical part 1 may have at least one longitudinal slot 10 for conductor egress, and axial holes 2a, 7 and 8 are provided in parts 2, 3, 4, 6 which align on assembly to carry a bolt for fixing the assembly together and to a base board. The coil may be wound on a former 9, or direct on to member 4, or on an insulating sleeve fitted on member 4. The structure may be of ferrite, and acts as electromagnetic screen as well as forming a magnetic circuit. The coil winding may be carried out on a part of the assembly secured in situ in an electrical apparatus as described in Specification 967,510.
