Abstract
1,102,155. Transformers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. 12 July, 1966 [31 Aug., 1965], No. 31144/66. Heading HIT. The laminations of a transformer core have cooling passages 6, 8 (Fig. 5) therethrough in two directions at right-angles, the leg laminations being clamped by slotted reinforcing members 18 provided with cross-arms 21 and clamping bolts 23. The cross-arms are conductively connected to the reinforcing members 18 at one end only and may be insulated from the leg laminations. They may be on the outside of the reinforcing members (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown). The reinforcing members are secured to box-like yoke clamping members (10a), (11a) (Fig. 1, not shown) by integral pins or bolts. Extra slots may be provided in the reinforcing members 18 to reduce eddy currents.
