Abstract
941,940. Transformers. MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON. May 16, 1962 [May 25, 1961], No. 18912/62. Heading H1T. The leg laminations of a transformer core are clamped together by plates which are preset in the manner of arched leaf springs, the yoke laminations being clamped by transverse members which may or may not be similarly pre-set. The pre-set plates 3 may have holes 9 to receive studs 10 on the transverse members 5 and holes 91 to receive retaining bolts during assembly. The transverse members are held by tie bolts 6 and also carry U-straps 12 having clamping screws 11, these straps forming a base for the transformer. Clamping elements 8 may serve to compress the windings (Fig. 2, not shown), and interlocking of the transverse members and the plates 3 may be effected by retaining members affixed to the latter instead of by means of studs 10. Additional clamping in a leg may be provided by means of straps or bolts in the case where the spring-like plates prove insufficient (Fig. 3, not shown).
